Frank McAvennie claims Kyogo Furuhashi will make his Celtic return in time for April’s games against Rangers.

The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, has revealed what he’s been told by his
    Sources

Celtic fans spotted Furuhashi, 27, in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment during a recent Celtic training video.

The Japan international can be spotted in the back of the image, with a ball at his feet, away from his teammates.

Furuhashi has not played in 2022 due to a hamstring injury picked up in December 2021.

Ahead of three games against Rangers in April and McAvennie claims the first clash, on 3 April, will be Furuhashi’s targetted return date.

There are rumours going about, about him coming back for these Rangers games,”McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

It would be great because we play them three times in a month, it would be magnificent.

“The guys who are in there at the moment will cause problems for Rangers and Kyogo is better than them, no disrespect to the other guys.

“You want to see your best players back, nobody has said anything about this injury for a while.

“To see him back in training is magnificent. I’ve heard from people who know he will be back in the next few weeks, in time for the Rangers games.

I hope that’s true because we will win them if he plays.”

Furuhashi has scored 16 goals in 26 games for the Hoops this season.

Two of those came on December 19 as Celtic beat Hibernian 2-1 in the Scottish League cup final.

With GG and Maeda in good form there's no desperate need to rush him back, I don't think Ange will be taking any chances with him like earlier in the season.

TOTALLY AGREE. It was a * joke that they awarded the World Cup to RUSSIA, the ultimate Kleptokratic Nation, and then they doubled down and rigged it for QATAR. FIFA needs to be cleansed completely.

Giakoumakis has earned his spot for the derby regardless. Hopefully Kyogo is back available soon though.

    Aye.

He definitely won't start against the huns and will be lucky to be on the bench.

I'm sure he'll be on the bench against St Johnstone though. Feel it in my gut.

They cannae hide from him for the game at Hampden or the derby at Celtic Park.

GG has proven his a nuisance.

I'm more than happy with him leading the line against Goldson, who was ragged dolled by GG last month.

Watch the game again a couple of weeks ago and his movement dragged the defence all over the place. I can only imagine what Kyogo's movement will do to them when he's fit.

Big GG will have scored a hat trick and Maeda will have scored one off his * from 2 inches when he comes on to destroy their black souls.

Would love to see Giakoumakis and Kyogo together, have a feeling they would be lethal..

For the game against the scum it has to be Giakoumakis tho, if it's somehow comfortable I'd bring Kyogo on for the last 15.

If we’re up comfortably I would just leave him on the bench and not risk him getting a bad one off one their many hatchet men.

No question he has earned the right to start the game against the zombies next weekend. Plus even though he didn't score against them last time he played really well and was a constant threat so hopefully more of the same and a goal maybe this time. It would be great though if Kyogo was able to make the bench.

The 2018 and 22 world cups were decided at the same vote, no surprise. 12 voters from 24 were impeached for about 150m worth of fraud. They really should have not have sold a World Cup USA were bidding for as they reacted badly to that loss (although they were right to) . Lord Treissman also said he was approached by 4 people asking for bribes for votes for '18. Jack Warner wanted £2m, another wanted a knighthood.
Reality is that sports are corrupt to the core and there will be bribery in awarding sporting events. It's sad but I do think it is better than when Blatter and Platini were around

Kyogo will need to come back all guns blazing to take back his starting position. Fantastic problem to have.

Hat trick against the Huns will do fine.

Only thing, Giakoumakis is due for a hat trick of hat tricks and won't go down easily(in losing his place)

Celtic will have Kyogo Furuhashi fit and available for Sunday’s Old Firm derby against Rangers as Ange Postecoglou revealed only James Forrest will be missing for the match at Ibrox.

Furuhashi became an instant fan’s favourite and key player for his side after arriving from Vissel Kobe in the summer, scoring 16 times across all competitions.

The Japanese forward hasn’t played this year though, with a hamstring complaint sidelining him as Celtic climbed to the top of the league.

With the Glasgow rivals meeting at Ibrox on Sunday in a top-of-the-table clash that could have a significant impact on who wins the league, Furuhashi’s return is a major boost for Postecoglou and his players.

The manager said his talismanic forward was ready to play his part in the derby and the crucial matches to come in league and cup.

“In terms of injury, everyone got through the international window well,” Postecoglou said. “The only one who’s not available for the weekend is James Forrest. He still has a bit of a niggle from his last game.

“[Kyogo] is obviously a fantastic player and he had a very good start to the season. It’s disappointing for him that the injury came along and has kept him out for quite a while.

“But we know the kind of impact he can make as a footballer and he’s already had an massive impact on our season.

“Once he’s up and ready and out there again, I’m sure he’ll be looking to make a similar impact.”
