Funny enough people say they see him as a holding midfielder, and I don't disagree, but I think he was excellent at RB whenever he played there for us. He can dribble, good with the ball, quick and has a decent shot on him too.

He’s 100% a centre back and a very * good one at that.

The boy was surrounded by utter diddies last season and still looked a player.

Astounded that a bigger team hasn’t came in for him to be honest. Would suit a Lazio, Gladbach, Monaco etc right down to the ground.

The squad loses another leader. My concern is that Julien is the only real captain in the squad.

He is not a 13m defender if you ask me, but a great player, has a * load of mistakes in him defensively, poor at defending crosses and corners, but is very composed on the ball and makes good runs, i honestly think he would be a much better DM.

Moving to Brentford, shows how * the situation at the club must have been.

Good luck to the big man, will be missed and is a shame that guys like this had to endure his last season or so with Lennon.

Definitely meant he leaves us without us seeing him at his best I think.

He will go on to be a better player than Brentford and Brentford and Ajer both know that.

They've taken advantage of their epl money and Celtics stumble lately. Good on them (* for us), but I'd be surprised if he is there for more than two seasons before getting a much higher calibre club.

Brentford suits him very well. They like to play attacking football & have a very good manager who improves players. He will have a good chance of playing every week and proving himself against top class players. Brentford have a history of improving players and selling them for big money so Celtic have the chance of earning a good sell on bonus in the next couple of years.

KRISTOFFER AJER is poised to complete a £13.5million move to Brentford.

The Celtic defender is set to undergo a medical in London on Friday after a fee was agreed.

Ajer, 23, has already thrashed out personal terms with the Premier League new boys.

And he is expected to become The Bees record signing in the next 24 hours after they gazumped Bayer Leverkusen for the Norwegian.

SunSport can reveal the Bundesliga outfit hoped to secure a deal for Ajer this weekend.

They had even started making plans for him to join their pre-season training camp in Austria.

But the Germans were left stunned when Brentford instead thrashed out a fee with Celts to secure Ajer.

He only had 12 months remaining on his contract and had publicly stated his desire to move on.

Rubin Kazan defender Carl Starfelt is set to be his replacement at Celts, with a £4.5m fee agreed for the Swedish stopper.

The 26-year-old was due to undergo a medical in Moscow after being left out of a match with Spartak.

Rubin sporting director Oleg Yarovinsky said: “We’re negotiating, but the documents are not signed yet.”

Ajer cost the Hoops £650,000 from IK Start in 2016 and the Brentford deal will land them a huge profit.

But the Norwegian minnows are due a ten per cent cut of the fee through a sell-on clause.

Wasn't expecting him to end up at Brentford but a premiership team was always gonna come in for him. Surprised he didn't fancy Leverkusen over London but I'm sure he'll do well regardless.

Class act his whole time here, will be a top player as he hits his peak.

Brentford are a well run club, they would have thought long and hard before picking him. Good luck to him, definitely our best player last season and one of our most consistent the past 4 years. He is someone I'll definitely keep an eye out on if it is working. As much as he wants to leave I do think he enjoyed playing for us.

By the looks of it Brentford have came up with the money that Celtic wanted and The German mob didn’t.

Plus it’s the premier league as well, he does well this year he won’t be at Brentford for long.

Ultimately it hasn’t been his choice.

The quotes in Bild last night sounded like the player was very keen on Leverkusen and had agreed terms

So the player has no say at all in which move they prefer? Didn't know that tbh.

Where did I say he had no choice? Can you point that out?

The fact Brentford has come up with the money, wages and it’s the premier league it’s a massive platform for him to be playing week in and week out.

But aye he had no choice in the matter……

I wouldn’t go as far as no say at all. He’ll obviously have agreed terms with Brentford now too. But ultimately he’s been sold to the highest bidder

The poor guy was doing his best to sell Taylor to Brentford for way over the odds and you lot have ruined it by saying Taylor is *! :p

Good luck to Ajer, I hope he does well down there, gets a better move soon and us a sell on fee, plus giving the bigger English teams more evidence they would be better buying direct from us, as that would drive up what we can demand for our players.

Sorry I quoted your message then replied to @Bobo_

Where he goes is kind of secondary really, glad to take the money from whoever and keep on with this rebuild.

    No problem Bud! :50:

from January this year after the Ajer sale we would have received just over 30 million in player sales.

wonder how much of that Ange will get.
