Depressing that we have a majority shareholder with a fortune worth £2bn but we need to wait and sell our best players before lifting a finger.

    Embarrassing.

Doesn't really matter if he's worth 2bn or 200bn, he's not our sugardaddy owner, we live within our means and don't need him to dip his pockets to personally fund the squad.

Brentford's style of playing suits Ajer to a tee. Thomas Frank is a very good coach & man manager & I expect him to get the best out of Ajer.
Celtic should end up with a nice sell on at some point in time.

I agree but there's a difference between living within your means and being tight as *.

People are understandably reluctant to call for the head of a multi-billionaire but if Ange fails due to a lack of funds then the pitch forks should be out for Desmond. Lawell has been the sacrificial lamb but its very possible Desmond is the root of the problem.

    Mate it's £2bn.

I'm sure if he cared that much he could spare £20m to invest and actually give us a chance of regular CL qualification.

There's living within your means then there's going into a champions league qualifier with A youth prospect and a 20 year old who was playing with Wimbledon a year ago at CB.

Not for me. He's not interested in investing in this club.

Brentford is a good move I'd say, reckon they could be a mid table finish this season, that one team that springs some surprises.

Practically London as well, so no doubt he'll adjust and if he plays well, he could end up at a club like spurs looking at the state of their CB'S.

    Not buying that at all.

With a fortune like that if he really gave a * about the football side of things he would invest some of his own money.

Its a big reason why we are not a consistent CL side. We prepare to fail constantly.

I'm not asking him to invest the full £2bn fortune fs. He's probably spent more on Golfing holidays than he has on celtic players this summer.

You say messing about, I say getting maximum value for his talent. Footballers need to wind their neck in a bit, it's all negotiation and they should sit back and keep quiet until it's done.

Other than that, he's a model professional and I wish him all the best.

    That's the EPL for you..

Last year it was between us and them for Ivan Toney and he was sitting at Celtic Park dying to sign. Went on to be their top goalscorer/talisman..

It's about choosing English Premier over Scottish Premier & the money that comes along with it. Playing against some of the best players in the world is what drives most players.
Just so you know, you can say * on this site !!

There's no probably about it, he doesn't bankroll the team out of his own pocket and never has, he doesn't pay anyone's wages or front any signing fees. As our biggest shareholder he has influence at board level on where/when we spend our money yes, but it's our money that we generate as a company, it's not him spending personally and can't be, unless he actually buys us outright and we do become a billionaires plaything.

I have been saying this for years, there is no point throwing PL out the door and thinking the new CEO will change all our spending structure and we will suddenly start spending more or differently. DD is the top dog,he sets the rules.

I agree, its not Dom McKay that is putting his hand in his pocket, its Desmond. Apparently Desmonds son is going to be taking a more active role in Celtic, maybe he will be a bit more generous when it comes to the transfer budget but who knows.

Brilliant business by the club, if we get anything near that sort of money, for a guy that’s a mediocre defender at best. He’s good at bring the ball out from the back, of that there is no doubt but as far as defensive positioning or reading of the game he’s very poor. For his height he is very poor in the air.
One good thing is he tried last season, unlike many others.
