Yup. Probably announce all our signings then announce his sale in order to avoid people bumping up the price on our buys because we "have money"

He's good at breaking out of defence. He has the long strides that can take him forward quickly and he also has the ability to track back and got us out of danger more than a few occasions. I personally always felt he was never in full control of the ball though, not in the way Van Dijk used to be. 15m is a great price for him. I'm not sure he will be able to take the next step and play for a really big side. Also thought his passing was suspect and he was never brave enough for me to make the brave pass into the feet of the midfielders

He was one of my favourite players and always gave his all while others around him were spitting out the dummy. Still not the finished article for me but he's still young and will improve. Would obviously have loved him to stay but good luck to him wherever he goes

Looking on the Brentford forums, they're very excited by the prospect of signing him. Nice change of pace from the ignorant * down south who couldn't give a *. Seems a decent, well run club

One of the few players last season who never stopped trying his best and because of that i wish him well. He has been open and honest about wanting to leave, nice change from players acting the ucnt.

£15M is a crap price for a fantastic player, but it's better than nothing. Probably make not much less than that on a good sell-on clause, so hopefully that's tied in.

On Kris himself, an absolute gent, and been excellent for us throughout everything, so; unlike most others who leave and I don't give a * about afterwards, I hope he goes on to the very best and all the fans give him a break and appreciate he did this the right way

£15m is a great price for a player playing in Scotland with only a year left on his deal, coming off the back of a horrendous season for his club.

    I think its good business.

Wasn't saying it's a bad deal, it's more that the buyers are getting a steal from us. He's worth best part of twice that price

Someone on twitter saying the deal is worth up to £17m(£14m up front and £3m add ons) without the sell on clause which they believe to be 10%

I love Ajer and rate him highly but I can't see that being true with only a year left :giggle1:

Aye, I've not seen the tweet because I'm at work but my mate said to me. I think it will still be £15m, just structured differently.

I still want the 10% in. * them..

Brentford usually make big profits and if he shows up well and they go down, he'll still go for 30 or 40 mill..

I don't think there is any doubt we will have a sell on of some sort included. It's the way we should do business when we can't sell the players on for their true value.

    I don't.

I do feel that Edouard didn't try particularly hard last season. Ajer if anything put more in than ever.

Might be part of the reason there is more interest in one than the other, even though they are in very similar positions.

Brentford have a very good reputation for buying & selling players, usually for large profits. They are a very well run club & if they want Ajer it probably means they see a large upside to him. Good luck to him. He has never mailed it in, always showed up.

Brentford are submitting a new bid for Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Londoners had an offer worth £12million up front plus £3m of add-ons rejected by the Scottish giants earlier this month

But a recruitment source has told Football Insider that Brentford are returning to the negotiating table with a new £15m bid that will include a higher guaranteed payment.

It comes after Celtic reached an agreement with Rubin Kazan over a deal for Swedish centre-back Carl Starfelt.

This site revealed earlier today that the Hoops have agreed a £4.3m fee for the 26-year-old and he is undergoing a medical ahead of completing the transfer.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are keen to add at least one centre-half to their squad this summer with Ajer, 23, wanting a move to the Premier League or a top European club.

Ajer has less than 12 months left on his contract at Parkhead and it looks highly unlikely that he will sign a new deal.

Football Insider understands the Hoops board want £20million for their centre-back in this window and there is no shortage of interest.

Brentford are joined by Norwich City and Bayer Leverkusen in the hunt for the 23-times Norway international.

Ajer was one of Celtic’s standout performers in what was a disappointing 2020-21 campaign for the club.

He made 46 appearances across all competitions – only Callum McGregor featured on more occasions.

Close to signing for Brentford according to John Percy (Daily Telegraph journalist), 13.5m.

For a guy who cost us £600k and with 20% due to IK Start that’s a decent return
