Why accept it this Early?

 

The majority of papers were stating we were holding out for £15 million last week, which actually makes sense in why there's a delay, we're not going to be stupid enough to ask for £20 for a player with 1 year left on his contract.

I'd personally keep him until after the midtjylland game, help us get through that and sell for around 12 - 15 million.

 

He’s literally Norwegian, think his translation should be fine.

Also mates with Ajer

 

We should be accepting anything over 10 million with a sell on fee.

I don’t get how we have the check to try and get every last penny out of deal when we don’t hold all the cards and he could go for nothing next year.

I love Ajer but we need to sell him this window to get some money into the club.

Hard to believe we'd turn down 15m pounds for a guy in the last season of his contract. Not a very Celtic thing to do (apart from the Boyata situation).

 

If your wanting 15 million you don’t exactly enter negotiations and set the bar at 15 million your basically playing into the opposites hand mate got to set the bar Slightly higher

 

Numerous reasons.

We had an agreement with Ajer he can go.
We need to ship out players that don't want to be here.
In doing that, make as much money as we can on them. Which is tricky going in to the last year of a deal. This sounds a good deal. We * the sale thing wi Ntcham previously.
We need to be focusing on our rebuild, which is being hampered by certain unknowns in terms of who stays and goes. Selling a player for this money only benefits our rebuild.

Just a few things that sprang to mind

 

Fair enough, if that's the case, I think this is Ajer forcing the club in to accepting a bid. He wants out. We need to.move on as well. Silly to refuse this.

 

A believe he will still go for decent money mate it’s still very early and plenty a time to get that money considering it isn’t just one team that’s approached with an offer. That’s just my thought though and yes Obvcourse I don’t want another ntcham situation but I think he will go this window

Two scenarios here

We need the cash in before we can get players in = take the money
We don't need the cash in to bring payers in = Wait & see what other offers come in

 

we are holding out for a undisclosed fee on the last day of the window so we can rush out and sign willo flood mrk 2.

 

If he is happy and not forcing the situation, then it is a good thing that we are knocking back potentially £12million plus.

Means surely he will be available and ready to go in the qualifiers and he will be much needed for them.
Then, if we are smart, we sign someone else in the mean time and get them ready in the early part of the season before selling Ajer in the last few days of this window to get maximum cash on him - plus using him for the qualifiers.

But knowing us, we will do nothing of the sort, get no direct replacement and sell him for a nominal/undisclosed fee in January.

 

It's a huge risk for both the player & the team to play him against Midtjylland !!
If he gets injured the club could lose the chance to sell him this window & his value drops. The player would also be concerned about injury as well and would be less than committed.
Once a player has stated he wants gone it's usually in the clubs best interest to get him moved. It's really not in the clubs interest to * him around.
