Very true, sometimes it’s right to cash in otherwise you’re liable to as you said throw 14million away on a player who will leave or down tools anyway.

Whether it’s a good idea or not I would imagine we would want to be keeping Ajer and Edouard to give us a chance of negotiating the first tie against Midjtylland and securing EL football at least, before letting them go.

After listening to Ange today I am more than happy to wait for him to look them in the eyes and see if that would be worth it.

Both want to leave, I don't see any point keeping them around.. get rid and get players that want to be here.

Ajer is a £25M player that we're probably going to get £15M because of the contract situation. Eddy about £25-30M and we're gonna get about £18M, Christie about £12M and we'll get about £7M.

Not that £40M is to be sneezed at, but Christ, we can't afford to keep bleeding away about £25M in fees over * up contract renewal and sales...

If Eddy gets picked for the Olympics we won't see him in the qualifiers anyway. Ajer probably worth keeping for a couple of weeks.
Edit: just saw he didn’t make it.

I really don't want any of the want away players at the club next season. I think when players start making their feelings known about leaving they can GTF.

They should be professional and conduct everything behind closed doors with no leaks. It's disrespectful to the club and the fans.

I know NL made it public but after the Ferencvaros game last year never again. We don't want guys here who are showing a lack of professionalism.

Big Ange is the type of manager who wants guys that are hungry and want to be here.

If they don't want to be here then they can get tae... please note that you should not expect Celtic to accept just any offer so you can get what you want, you singned a contract so deal with it.

I'd take a lower offer if we can get a 90-100% sell-on fee.

Norwich are tough negotiators and look to underpay. It’s part of their structure, pay small, sell big. I wouldn’t be worried if we don’t sell to them TBH, someone else will pay fair value.

Ben White is going to Arsenal for £50 million. Ajer is twice the player he is. Even with the fact that he's only got a year on his contract and we play in the SPL we should still be pushing for £25 mill

Hope he goes to Leverkusen as it does our business model good having our players going to top teams rather than teams like Norwich

Having players complaining to the press about how they are being treated by a club is not good for business. He wanted gone last year but stayed around at the clubs request. I am not saying that Celtic give him away but they need to show the footballing world that they do things right.

Bayer Leverkusen are interested in Celtic centre-back Kristoffer Ajer, but might not be able to afford the 23-year-old, according to Kicker.

With just one year left on his deal with the Scots, the Norwegian international is understood to be keen on taking the step to one of Europe's top five leagues this summer.

But Ajer's price tag could represent a stumbling block for Leverkusen, who haven't come close to matching Celtic's reported €15 million asking price, as per Kicker.

Ajer has also been linked with RB Leipzig and Norwich among others.

If they can pay 11m for Frimpong, surely they can pay 15m for Ajer who is a much better player at this moment?

Agree completely. Don't like the contract, don't sign it.

None of us really know too much about how Ajer is behind the scenes, I can only assume he seems to be a good pro in the sense that he takes pride in his performance regardless of his personal situation.

If we get cb signings right and he plays to the level we know he can and we just so happened to get CL or EUROPA league group stage football I'd let him go for free in Jan.

The money qualifying for those is going to be more than we'd be able to realistically get for him when his contract is due to expire
