    Nice.

What position is he? Defensive mid, box to box or a CAM?

Seems reasonable to bring Scott Allan into an Ajer thread :97:

So negotiations are allowed to happen outside transfer deadlines?

Aye, mind players signing for teams is a legal thing with nothing to do with football, you can sign players anytime you want.

Football though is just a sport governed by associations who all agree to abide by certain rules and rules are you can only swap player registrations between teams during transfer windows.

A young central midfielder who will likely be his direct competition... reasonable indeed.

Allan and Ajer are different players.

From what I've seen from our Norwegian sources, he is a future DM/Biton type.

I think he's the eventual Bitton replacement.

Seems some of the Norwegians boys on twitter saying they think Deila sees him as a long term centre half. Regardless of where he is going to play, im delighted.

Its so up and down with transfers at Celtic like Simunovic, Sviatchenko, Roberts (on a 18 month deal) and now Ajer seem like great business on paper but then we do stuff like buy CKR (who has looked decent granted) and not getting in another left winger plus Ciftci in the summer obviously which annoyed most in here.

(Mostly) CAM/ST in 4-4-1-1 before last years summer window, CM after. His most impressive game (1st time cap'n) however was as a DM against Lillestrøm early in the season. Spent most of his youth carrer as CB. Could end up anywhere centrally on the park. Given his skills with the ball, it'd be a shame if he ended up as a CB.
Think if Mertesacker was comfortable on the ball and had the passing range of Carrick in his hey-day(It sounds insane, but thats how dominant he was in a few games). He doesn't do any fancy tricks, and he looks sluggish. But his first touch is always on-point and he gets around quite effectively for a big man.

Weaknesses: He tends to opt for the sliding tackle.
I don't think i've ever seen him use his left foot. He also loses out on surprisingly many aerial duels given his size. I think this will improve with time though, as he gains muscle (Looks like he has gained quite alot from recent photos.)
This could have been done simpler and not to mention better.

    From wikipedia :56:

He then travelled on a pilgrimage to Lisbon where he met the great and most knowledgable one, Billy McNeill, who through meditation and shamanic repeats of 'this land is your land' and 'the * Maley song' revealed to young Ajer his destiny, to sign for Celtic, which he duly did.

I am certainly hoping that is the case. If there is one thing we absolutely do not need right now it is another candidate for the number 10 position.

I have a feeling he'll be a first pick for Ronny. Think we'll punt Bitton in the summer.

Can see us developing them next season with Rogic, Bitton and johansen potentially going the following season if we get a good run in champions league and a decent offer

Norwegian journalists almost universally believe he'll be a centre half long term.
