    Reminded me of erik early on tbh. Backing into them and giving away needless fouls.

    Really liked him towards the end. Taking up a bit of leadership and taking no chances. Ordering brown to cover in centre half for a few seconds till we played it out.

    Should be in there next to Benkovic for the rest of the season, will give him the experience for him to be one of our main centre backs next season. He has everything in his game to be a top class centre back, now just needs the game time and experience.

    There's going to be big expectation on him to step up and be Mr. Reliable at centre half next season. Ive faith in him.

    Genuinely I'd be inclined to play him and benkovic for the rest of the season.

    * boyata, he's gone to me. Ajer is the future and we need him really up to speed now. Benkovic has been a model pro since he came and there is potential to get him back for another season, but we need to at least utilise his talent to help bring on ajer.

    Better on the ball, but need to learn how to use his body.. Boyata is a better defender no doubt.. but I’d play Ajer he’s the future.

    Aye he’s 7/8 years younger or something, that will come. Boyata couldn’t control a ball or pass it 5 yards until half way through Brendan’s first season :giggle1:

    I’d happily never see him in our starting line up again.

    Assuming they're fit I'd play Ajer alongside Benkovic for the simple reason that he's ours, he's obviously got talent and going to improve massively but the only way he'll do that is with games.

    Not taking any digs at Boyata, despite the bad feeling he left in the summer he's played well most of this season, I know a lot of people were expecting him to take the huff and not bother his * since then but he hasn't. Think he still edges Ajer on the basics of defending but he's got enough years on him that that should be the case really, but Ajer is much more comfortable on the ball and having him and Bain at the back over Gordon and Boyata suits the way we want to play much more.

    Loved seeing him and Benko high fiving keeping a high line and catching the St Mirren player offside last night even when we’re winning and cruising.

    That’s taking us back to the sort of Uber, minute detail, professionalism we had when Davies was shouting at the free kick taker to aim for a certain spot a couple years ago in the last period of the game when we were already smashing the opponent.

    I’d be more than happy to have Ajer and Benko continue along for the rest of the season.

    Hope he keeps the jersey for the season. Improved dramatically and his last ditch tackle yesterday was first class! If boyata is off then we are as well continuing with ajer as he is likely to be a key player next season
