Callum McGregor has shown that he can score goals on loan last season and so far this season, I think he could be a natural replacement for Commons if he goes.

It's just an issue in Europe. If Commons doesn't play well, Celtic don't play well. Makes it easy to cut off the supply to the strikers. The league is a different story. £7.5million is just a * take. Half that and the deal would be done already.

We've become too fixated on money. It's important, yes, but we'll be left with an absolutely rank rotten team on the pitch if we continue to do this. We don't need to sell, so don't.

We don't need to but Commons will be on the downward spiral soon, and £4 million is a good sum of money. Particularly for a player who doesn't suit Ronny's system.

Why if - according to many on here - we have such a * team, are you wanting to sell off all our best players from said * team?

Do people actually want us to lose the league this season?

Commons may or may not be a permanent fixture this season but wanting him sold is * madness.

If his replacement doesn't work out wouldn't you want to be able to bring him back in to save the day? (so to speak)

The blasé way that people want our best players sold and replaced with people who either haven't cut the mustard or even haven't played a game for us is frightening.

Everyone say our strikers are *, yet we want to sell one player who we KNOW can bang them in? Brilliant Idea

Commons is a good player at domestic level but lacks pace for europe.

We should possibly look at deploying him further forward so he has to cover less ground and try to bring in a more defensive/physical midfielder with good height and strength. Without Broonie in the team we lack any kind of real presence in midfield and that is one of the few things we can use against some of the smaller better teams in europe.

I think if we add a player of that type and bring in a target man for the wingers to cross to we could be a dangerous team. With the added addition of McGregor he can make up for some of the play making and goals from midfield we will lose playing commons further forward, might also mean some of Commons deficiencies might be less exposed in european level.

    Hail Hail

Agree with you Zander nae need to sell commons we dont need the money and he would be hard to replace the guy is a hero. Some of the things him and his wife have done are exactly in keeping with the traditions of Celtic.

£4m would be a decent amount for a soon to be 31 year old like him however I'd be wary about selling him right now.

I have my doubts about him suiting Deila's style in the long run but right now we do not have anyone who you would say is seriously better than him. This is a guy who scored a multitude of goals for us last season and would still be hard to replace, even though he appears to be playing absolutely * in the first few games of the season. He could easily go and score a double or a hat-trick tomorrow and people would be begging him to stay.

It's still early in the season, I'd be more inclined to keep him and hope that he can find some of that form from last year. Just hope we aren't in for another season like he had in his first full one.

I don't really like commons all that much, I know he got a lot of goals last season but every game he plays I can count 10+ times he loses possession and ends up with the opposition having a crack at us, very bad touch n can't play quick 1 2's.... Feel him n mulgrew also let us down in Europe... Panicking on the ball, playing the ball over the top almost each time they got it and they lost the ball a lot leading to some goals, people never seem to notice that side of him

I do notice it but care to ignore it for all the goals he scores
