Apparently in tomorrow's papers. Honestly good player to have around but I wouldn't be too fussed if he did move on.

this was in my mind, sign the contract and he getting paid no matter what, but surely players want to play, and he could no doubt still play at a high level, on the other hand if hes not going to play as much, would RD waste the wages on him if hes not in his first team plans

    * sake, it's now his wifes decision.

Do you people ever have a day off?

How about the fact that football is a squad game and the Kris feels he can improve and get back in the managers plans?

Does that ever compute with you negative twits?

2 year deal, perfect, just what he deserves. I look forward to him trying to reclaim a starting spot and if he doesn't, what a great option to have on the bench and on the training field.

    Win win for Celtic.

He still has more than enough in the tank to score goals in Scotland and even occasionally in Europe, just needs a run of games under his belt at some point to get his match fitness levels back up.

Even when he does call it a day here as a player, he will probably be back in the future in some sort of coaching role. He evidently has fallen in love with the club over the past few years.

Celtic to stand firm on Palace Kris Commons bid

    http://www.scotsman.com/sport/footb...and-firm-on-palace-kris-commons-bid-1-3638628

CELTIC will reject any “insulting” offer they may receive from Crystal Palace for Kris Commons in the January transfer window.

The London club, who signed Joe Ledley from Celtic in the last January window, have been linked with the 31-year-old goalscoring midfielder who is out of contract in the summer.

Talks have stalled on an extension to the player’s deal and Selhurst Park manager Neil Warnock is believed to be lining up a cut-price offer in next month’s transfer window.

A figure as low as £250,000 has been mentioned, but that will be rejected out of hand by Celtic, who could see last season’s top scorer leave for nothing at the end of the season.

A source said: “Under no circumstances, will Celtic be interested in selling Commons for an insulting figure. Crystal Palace paid £800,000 for Joe Ledley a year ago when he was coming to the end of his contract.

“Celtic accepted that fee, but at that stage the club were already out of the Champions League and, as such, no revenue would be coming in from European participation.

“This is a different story. The club really want to do well in the Europa League as well as cleaning up on the domestic front. The manager will require a full squad of experienced campaigners when they take on Inter Milan in the first of the knock-out stages in February.

“If Crystal Palace believe Celtic will agree to a cut-price figure for their player with so much to play for, then they are sadly wrong and wasting everyone’s time.”

Former Scotland international Commons, who netted 32 goals last season, is adamant he wants to remain at the SPFL champions and current league leaders. He is looking for a two-year extension and admitted: “I feel I’ve got a lot to offer over the next couple of years.

“This is a terrific place to be when you are in all the competitions and are going to attempt to win trophies.”

Commons, who cost £300,000 when he arrived from Derby County in January 2011, has failed to become a regular starter since the arrival of Deila.

However, the Norwegian insists the club could still come to an agreement with the former Scotland international.

He said: “There are circumstances that could keep Kris here for three or four years. That’s up to him and the club to agree. That’s what negotiations are all about. It is a positive thing that both parties want it.”

Premier League clubs West Brom and Leicester City are also monitoring the situation.

Why does it matter if his wife has an input, commons still has a family to think about and his wife has probably agreed with him that staying at celtic would be the best thing, I think he will be offered a contract and ronny should be starting him a lot more than he has because he is a great wee player with plenty of years left in him, sadly when you have family wife etc it is no longer just your decision no matter what it is :54:

Can see him heading to Palace in the next few weeks, last chance for him to play in the English Premier League, and they'll probably pay him more than what we'll offer. It's ridiculous how low we want our wage bill to be now.

250k is insulting but id take anything from £2mil upwards.

think under the circumstances, the 800k for ledley as a decent sum. could have easily seen him go for nothing. i think cardiff fans have more reason to feel robbed than we do

You can guarantee Bolton are going to spend 1 million to have a player for 6 months?

Bolton who have no money or a different one?
