We were playing a few who haven't been regulars but i wouldn't of minded even seeing Mcgregor out and sticking johansen on the right (sure he's played plenty for Norway out there) and tried that with commons in the hole and young Henderson with his tenacity and energy alongside bitton..
What did we have to lose by that? Fuckall..

One things for sure, Johansen won't be worrying about starting infront of broony and bitton on sunday after commons display..

 

offered a 1 year deal says he wants 2 and the money on offer is fine ..... play well in the year deal get offered another simples surely.

 

It's okay saying that, but he's a family and he knows after Celtic, he'll have to go back down south, does he really want to do that at this stage? They have young children too.

He's been awesome business by Celtic, up there for me with Larsson and Moravcik considering what we paid for him and what we got back (he's not as good as them obviously in that sense).

I still think he has something to offer, but I agree he's been way off form.

He's still good for a goal though or a pass.

I'd rather we keep him, but at the moment, yeah Johansen is doing well in that role, still think I'd rather someone different though in there to him still, although Johansen can't really play anywhere else as for me he's hopeless playing alongside Scott Brown, better playing just ahead.

Just caught the end of a news report on radio Scotland and RD has said Commons is playing a dangerous game by going public (allegedly)

 

All he's said is he wants to stay and hopes a contract can be sorted and it's between his agent and Chief Exec just now.

 

Cheers, hope something can be sorted as I want Commons to stay. Although from his point of view he needs to play regularly. Just hope they are not that far apart.

 

Also says he feels he can still attribute a lot. Although from a midfielder who scored 32 goals and won Player of the Year just last season that's a bit of a no brainer.

 

Whatever you think of Commons a one year extension is a * insult.

Great servant over the years, good influence around the team and happy to be here even though he isn't playing regularly.

2 years minimum he should be offered. No brainer.

I agree, whether from the bench or not, he's still a valuable player and has done more than enough in a Celtic shirt to be offered a good extention.

 

If he's happy to stay even though he knows he's not going to be a starter, give him the 2 year contract. That's a very easy decision to make.

 

I agree loyalty is a 2 way street. The way we treated Jackie Mac still gets on my *.

He's been a revelation here and 1 is an insult..

Get it done, even if he's not seen as a first teamer ..

 

I'm not using this as an excuse, as I too think he should be offered a longer contract, but is not club policy (not only ours), to only offer 1 year extensions to players on the wrong side of 30? Again, not saying i'm in full agreement with this. I like Commons & hope we can keep him for another few years.
