    That's what I thought..

No but he was on 25 (reportedly) which was one of our top earners because we paid no fee for him and said he wanted to stay (reportedly) and palace (supposedly) have a 25 grand a week wage cap..

So he wanted to stay but because some epl club offered him a contract and they have the same cap as us we must have offered him a pay cut.:56:

Same cap as us, what's ours then?

He said he wanted to stay and sign a new deal then offs to palace, I'm sure we wouldn't have offered him 25 again, do you?

"Hopefully it will be resolved as soon as possible and I'll stay and I'll be happy."

That is what he said while in talks with cardiff before running down his contract and signing for us.

Does it not seem a little bit strange that both club offered him a new deal and he wanted to stay with the clubs but then once the contract ran down he found a new club after stalling for weeks or months.

The guy is a journey man,run down contract get highest wages or signing on fee....and repeat.

Yes, I would be ecstatic with a player of Commons ability, goallscoring instinct and experience being there to help guide his younger colleagues through adapting at Celtic and for his ability to still play a part in our games, even if from the bench.

I think that this is a key point. Even if Commons does not start every game then he still brings value to the club, as you say nurturing young attackers and also its good for the young defenders to play against him in training. At the moment our squad lacks quality. Kris has it, its a no brainer for me, sign him up.

People have become incredibly ageist against footballers in the last few years . It didn't exist ten years ago .
    The seville team :

    Douglas (31)

    Valgaren (27) Balde (28) Mjallby (32) Agathe (29) Thompson (30)
    Lambert (34) Lennon (32) Petrov (24)

    Larsson (31) Sutton (31)

Lubo was 33 when he joined and 37 when he left

Kris Commons is 31 .He has never relied on pace . So why people are saying he is so old he will just be sitting on the bench for 18 months is beyond me , he could quite easily get back to his best form in a celtic shirt. If he was 34 , 35 then you have to start thinking about age but not at 31 .

C'mon pistol, give him the 2 years. He want's it. We want it. Ronny wants it(by the looks of things)

That was a team of players in their prime. Loved it :50:

Its got nothing to do with his age. He is one of the worst footballers in our team and is detrimental to what Ronny is trying to achieve. PL is a * but he is on the money with this one. His time is up, time to move on.

To be fair, everyone in that team went downhill in ability from there. In my opinion obviously. We also made massive mistakes with keeping a lot of them on for far too long.

Ambrose is the worst in the team. Would you agree?

Nope. Boerrigter, Tonev and Mulgrew are easily worse than Ambrose

Tell me with that team of super stars (and they really were super stars ) what did we win in that year ? I remember the team was out on their feet at the end and couldn't stumble over the line .
