He might not have had the best of games today but i would rather have him at the club than let another important player leave especially with the games we have coming up.

Job security, what age is his weans? Will it get them through school age! Starting school uo here or what? Takes him to maybe retirement age befor ehe goes into coaching instead of dragging his weans to the other side of the country etc.

If he's wanting to stay so badly, why doesn't he want to just sign the one year contract? Seems to be he's wanting more money which could be spent on another player who will start and not sit on the bench.

 

I'm of the same opinion. A one year deal with an option. I just think his best years are behind him and he's only going to get slower. Although I can understand why Commons would reject that. He wants his last 'big' deal and security.

 

It's the Ledley situation all over again we haggle and haggle till we're near the transfer deadline then the player is offloaded for next to nothing.

 

If he goes we better * invest heavily in players. Along with Samaras, that'll be two of our highest earners gone (not to mention the £12 million we got for Forster and Watt).

I really wonder what our next top earner is after Brown.

I know he needs to do what's best for him and his family. I certainly don't blame Kris for not signing a 1 year deal, i just wish he would, thats me being selfish Only positive is ,if its Bolton, its only a couple of hours down the road so him and his Mrs or mainly his Mrs will be able to attend CP still.

 

I don't think Commons is going anywhere. Remember Commons is good at gimmicks ?. He could be playing mind games with PL.

 

I dont know why we will let Commons go but want to bring in Maloney?

As Ronny said today after the game when Kris threw his boots into the crowd he'll need a new contract to keep him going in boots, which means he's off.

 

This is a low for the club. Very depressing that we are letting our best player leave so that our chief executive can prove he is the boss.

I agree mate, it's pathetic. Best player by a mile last year and one of our best players over the course of the last 4 years who does want to stay but we're just patching him.

People talk about loyalty in football and loyalty to Celtic when we have no * loyalty to or players. Over the last 4 years Commons has shown he is a reliable Celtic player and represented us magnificently on and off the park.

We are ignoring that though, we aren't showing any loyalty. I hate it and it's another sign of what our clubs became. Well not became, because we were * like that back in the day as well
