I believe if any amount of money comes in for Commons, Lawwell will be waving him goodbye.

And no one knows that better than Neil Lennon.... I expect him to come in with a small offer.

We let Ledley leave for a pittance and we would have got £8m odds for him if we signed him up. £300-£500k on the last couple of days of the transfer window and he's off. Lenny definitely knows that.

I think Lennon will come in with an offer lower than what he paid for him.

250k at most I'd say..... Lennon knows Lawwell doesn't want to give him a contract, because of his age.

Doesn't matter what Lennon knows or doesn't know.. If Lawwell wants rid of Commons he'll be gone.

Just give him the 2 year contract ffs

Yeah think it's similar to the Sammy situation.

that's assuming Lennon wants Commons :56:

I don't know anyone at Bolton, so don't know if they already have better options.

Lennon has stated publically he's interested today. He also stated he's aware others are in the mix.

    But not enough times.

Why haven't we learned from the Ledley scernario? We have a quality player ready to give the rest of him career to Celtic - and we slowly edge them towards the door.

Because it's the way Lawwell operates, I think he believes we win some, you lose some. The loyal players, that want to stat, that make it known they want to stay, they get left to the end of negotiations then get a quite derisory offer.

The ones it's worked with off the top of my head, Lennon as a player and manager, Stokesy, Izzy.

The ones it hasn't? Jackie McNamara, Ledley, Sammy and it's looking like Commons.

There was more from Stracahan's time but I can't remember at the moment.

If Ledley wanted to stay why did he not sign a contract instead of not commiting and making it look like he wanted to leave in the summer for free? Unlike Commons he never said he wanted to stay until he was at Crystal Palace. Good player who we could do with, no doubt, but I am not do dure he wanted to stay. As for Samaras only played a couple of decent games the last season so personally I was glad to see the back of him. Wages were too high for what we were getting in return. The sands of time will probably paint him as some football magician for some fans but reality was he had his day.

    Joe Ledley, August 2013

“Hopefully, my agent can come up soon to sort everything out and the club offer me a new deal. It’s a very important couple of weeks.

“I’m getting older. I’m going to be 27 this season. I’m very happy here and it’s a fantastic club. This contract is important to me and hopefully it’s sorted sooner rather than later.”

    Neil Lennon, January 2014

"He has intimated that he would like to stay and we are hoping that we can speak to his representatives this week and get that finalised."

    Joe Ledley, February 2014

"They (Celtic) offered me a contract and I was actually planning on signing,"

"I was sat there on deadline day and it came through that the club had accepted a bid. I just thought that it was right for me to go.
"When a club accepts (an offer) then, obviously, they want some money.

Ledley seemed to make it fairly obvious he wanted a new deal, and Lennon had the same impression. The club waited and waited to offer him a deal, and then accepted a bid for him.

I'm sure he'd also said it before 2023 as well. Ledley wanted to sign, Lenny wanted him to sign. Lawwell leaves players like that to the last minute,p because he thinks its a formality.

We never knew how much not renewing Joe's contract would cost us.

I'm fairly certain he said something about finishing his career here when we won the title in 2012, but I can't find it.

Aye, he said something like he couldn't picture his life outside of Glasgow now.

I miss him :52: I actually loved Joe Ledley.

Aye some player, he was. Very clever, in an understated way. With all his great defensive positioning and pressing, he still managed something like 1 goal every 5/6 games I think.

Commons has been unreal for us and I'll wish him all the best but if we are going to sell him after todays game why the * is he playing.
