Replacing that goal threat costs millions..

He's here now and ready to go on the cheap/for free..

He may not be a guaranteed first teamer always but he's more than good enough to play a part in this team for ronny (at the very least, domestically)..

I knew the point you were making and essentially agree with it. Just being pedantic I guess. :52::50:

Doesn't matter how many times he's done it to be honest... He done it last season which is the important thing. He's one of our biggest assets and he showed that to anyone who doubted he should be in the team lastnight. We'd be foolish to let him go.

Yes and Sky tried to make it out on twitter that it was "transfer" related when infact his uncle died.

Very few would argue that he should not be allowed to go, particularly when he is in the form he was in last night, it makes no sense on any level to be * about with the guy when he should be so pivotal in what we are trying to achieve in the 2nd half of the season.

As has been said it would appear Ronny simply doesn't rate him as highly as the fans do and it would appear Scepovic would be his choice before Commons or Griffiths for that matter in the pecking order.

As long as he reserves judgement like that there will always be question marks about Ronny amongst our support, I for one simply don't see where he is coming from

Agree fair play to Ronny getting the best out of him.:86:

Totally agree a two year deal would be best for all. And he did give up international football for us too.

Even if he doesn't play every game under Ronny I would still give him the two year deal, that would bring him to 33(?). Great squad player to have, someone who can change things up. I reckon we'll keep him.

I hope so mate he really put down a marker last night. When a team sits in, as most do in the league, there is no player more effective at creating opportunities.

As McInes said you have to pay special attention to Kris, which frees up space for others.

    Be gutted if he left.

A two year deal would bring him to 34, I can see him being an impact sub in the last year.

Lampard is 36 and he's still performing.

Though they are different in terms of the level they reached in their careers, they're not too different in their style.

Last season, Commons showed the knack of knowing where the ball was going to land in the box and being on hand to knock it in. The amount of times he picked up a second ball or rebound was incredible. He also has a great habit of picking up good positions, getting a yard and hitting a shot on target.

He's never had pace, so he won't have to adapt his game too much as he gets older. He still has the intelligence and technique to do what he has been doing for the past few years.

He also seems to be a leader in the squad, and that should be another reason to keep hold of him.

Cheers lads. Think that's what was being hinted at - that he was going for a trip to Bolton instead.

Sad about his uncle but glad it's not transfer related. Hope he stays.

"Deila's praise of Commons yesterday morning bears examination. ''Kris was very good - as the team.'' Translation: this was not a one-man show. ''He worked very hard.'' Translation: he doesn't always do that. ''There were good reactions when he lost the ball.'' Translation: he was tracking back for a change.

''Ninety minutes like that is what we want from Kris. If he does, that he is a very important player for the team'' Translation: he has to do it my way, every day."

I think these were fair points. The last translation is wrong though, I think he meant that he still needs to get fitter so he can keep it up for the full 90 minutes.

Well as many of us Can see... It looks like Kris will be off to pastures new by the end of January.
I'm really sad to see Kris go due to his success on field and his off field activities alongside his partner which are a credit to them and our club.

Some players simply don't fit into a mangers plans ...Which I'm sad to see if it's the case but hey.... Ronny works with him day in day out .
Or it could simply be Kris is looking for a fresh challenge such was the case with ledley.

I honestly do not however see it being the length of contract on offer ... After all why offer a player of Kris's calibre a one year deal because of his 'age'
Whilst showing interest in a older, inferior and injury prone Maloney whom will cost you a fee to recruit?

    Its a mystery to me...

But fingers crossed ... I still hope he stays ...

If not ... Good luck to him and all the best to his family for their future

Shut up even if he doesnt sign a new contract his current one expires in the summer

The only team interested in him are bolton who won't pay anything over 350000k for him and lawell is never going to take that
