Commons was instrumental in getting us into the CL last season with his great strike just before HT against Shaktar..

He scored 30 goals last season.. Has scored against Oldco and in the cups..

Kris still has a lot to offer Celtic.. Embarrassing people are writing him off.. Very short memories..

 

What has he done in Europe besides the Shakhtar goal in a CL qualifier?

Commons still has much to offer.

That being said, does he fit the high intensity pressing that Ronny favours? No, despite those clamouring to mention the goal against St Johnstone. I don't see him being able to sustain the kind of high pressing game in, game out.

If it's just down to goals in Europe then sell the whole * team then. He is one
of our better players and hopefully RD finds this out. Other than the Ghanain guy
Tonev and this Cardiff flop can't be called better replacements ffs..they may well
turn out decent but how long will it take when we already have a guy who can do it now.
I really hope he comes out of this minor 4/5 game slump that has made people think he's gash

Scored the goal that took us through to the last 16 in Europe. Played absolutely superb against Barca, was good in the Juve games even though we got horsed....

He will get 15/20 goals this season in the league and cups.

I do agree that he is a luxury we can't afford in the CL though, away from home in particular.

 

If we are playing with someone behind the striker in the middle of a three, like we have in the opening league games, then Commons is the best man for the job. If we are going with the tactics we played last night, in my opinion, Commons has to drop out.

 

There are always many posters just waiting until a player has the slightest dip in form , so they can jump in and post how * the player is and that he needs to be punted immediately . Commons is just another example of a player these anti Celtic players want shot of .

People are bringing up last season for a season to play him just now. He's been poor this season and Ronny was 100% right to drop him last night.

It's the here and now that counts in these qualifiers and he hasn't done it.

 

Again, to be fair, the season has barely started.

By that logic you should drop most of those who played the two Legia matches.

 

To be fair he doesn't look like he suits Ronny's style. Especially in Europe.
