Would be great if he could better his 2010-11 overall tally of 29 goals.

13 with Derby, 14 with Celtic and 2 with Scotland he got that season.

He's more than on his way to achieving it aswell.

Its crazy to think he scored 1 goals in 30 games in his second season here yet still has 50 goals in 3 years.

A really strange season that was for him, had no luck at all in front of goal and in the second half of season he began snapping at any chance to shoot he had from crazy positions, getting more and more desperate to try score his first goal of that season which didn't really help.

He still managed 13 assists, his all round play wasn't bad at all. Just didn't seem to convert chances like has done in the other 2 and a bit seasons.

Domestically, at least, I think we've found Hooper's replacement. Prolific goalscorer.

Totally agree. Not just his 2 well taken goals but his overall play was excellent today. Most of our best attacking play went through Commons. But he also was prepared to work hard. In the first half when it was still 0-0 he lost the ball midway inside their half and he worked his * off sprinting back to eventually win us back the ball midway inside our own half. First class attitude from Commons.

I sometimes have to think about that seconds season. It was bizarre, can't believe it was the same player.

He's a fantastic player. Even the games were he's not playing at his best he can still produce something that will win matches. Looking back it's amazing to think we signed him for the transfer fee we did. Derby must feel like we stole him from them.

Could Hoopers replacement be right under our noses? He's been class infront of goal this season.

Really changed my opinion on him this season, I always knew he was a good player to have to in Domestic games but I never thought he would be carrying the team like he has been. I thought his time was up and he would be slowly pushed out the team by a new signing or youngster. How wrong I was. He didn't do it in Europe this season, but who did? He is on another level at the minute.

Hunger, the man has a hunger to do well and perhaps his age has allowed him to see that he is at a successful club and any move will not be upward. Passion is something that cannot be bought... his season struggling has probably allowed him to see what he has got including a happy family life.

Great wee player and i hope the club get him signed up for longer... and get him on a coaching course. Hope his good run of form continues

Domestically? Sure, he's more than enough. For those European nights? Nope.

He's playing like Lampard, where he isnt really playing that well but he just pops up all the time and sticks it in the net.

Like 6/10 performances but scoring all the time.

3 years ago he hadn't even signed yet now he has over 50 goals, mental. If someone said he was going to be great and in 3 years time would have scored more than 50 goals for us they'd have been laughed at.

He's already scored more goals than Alan Thompson did and Thompson played 98 games more than him.

11 goals to go and he's equaled Scott McDonald's record.

Actually, it may be only 9 now.....
