Rodgers prefered system in the midfield is one sitting and two box to box either side, rather than 2 centre mids with a number 10 infront that we have playing this year, which is why he will want Eboue. My worry is where does that leave Rogic (who it would be mad to drop)

Aye that's what I've been saying recently. None of our midfielders deserve to be dropped but if one is dropped, my guess would be Rogic.

    Dembele
    Sinclair --- Rogic
    Armstrong
    Eboue ---- Brown
    Tierney - Erik - Jozo - Gamboa
    Gordon

With Roberts moving on next season, could be something like that in the pipeline.

I'd imagine it'll stay as is for now. Eboue will need to earn his spot.

Rogic needs to be a 10.
.If we were to play that we'd be sacrificing a lot of width and pace which Rodgers isn't about.

As Mick said above I know he prefers a sitter with 2 B2B but in Scotland that would be quite defensive for us IMO.

I prefer having that 10 in there. We are a better side with Rogic.

I think Rodgers knows that as well, Rogic forced himself into the side again at the start of the season.

The width is offered by the fullbacks. Roberts is out best right winger and he really doesn't have that much pace at all.

    Essentially could become:

    Sinclair - Dembele
    Rogic
Not too dissimilar to what he often would of played with at Liverpool, when Sturridge was injured.

    Sterling - Suarez
    Coutinho

I know you'd get them bombing forward but it still not for me, personally! I like how it is atm. Until it starts to become stale, I'd just keep it the same. We have Forrest and will probably replace Roberts either this month or the summer so I imagine we will stick with rhe wingers.

The formation you posted may be good for Europe though, due to the 3 in midfield. That is where we need to frustrate sides and win battles when there is a gap in quality.

I think we are worse without Rogic as well, regardless of the opposition.

Would like to see and Rogic try to adapt into a more box to box midfielder but not sure how likely that is.

Not advocating changing it all, as I said, Eboue needs to earn his place. He's a kid.

Original formation was in regards to the above discussion over who gets dropped.

For me, and I've never been an Armstrong fan (until now), he's not droppable on current form. Tam - Likewise.

Brown isn't getting dropped, Sinclair/Dembele speak for themselves. Only other option, in my eyes, is that line up.

Eboue either sits on the bench, being used sporadically, or Roberts (Forrest long term), is pulled.

    You are right.

Eboue will need to earn his place. None of us know anything about him, there aren't even youtube videos good enough for people to 'claim' they know all about him.

Time will tell just how talented he is. All hypothetical until then.

I wasn't an Armstrong fan either and I'm not completely converted yet but his form cannot be ignored. Still have a niggling feeling at the back of my mind over whether it will last though.Hope it does, obviously.

Notice the Sun twisting his agents word. Big headline saying we are 'just a stepping stone' and that his agent stated those exact words.

In reality all he said was he sees Celtic as the next step in his career and that he would evtnaully like to play in England or La Liga (no *)

    Horrible rag.

    I could see us transforming into a 4 4 2 with a diamond.
    Rogic
    Eboue armstrong
    Brown

Switching between Griff Dembele & Sinclair up front

I don't like that. Sinclair has been quality on the wing and cutting in and Forrest has also been class this season. Wouldn't want either of them taken out the starting XI.

Forrest has been great but that's one position I'd want filled I'm the summer. Imagine another Sinclair down that wing too and forrest for backup. I can see the team shaping up now.

Either way with that formation change we wouldn't have any wingers. I'd put upgrading Forrest fairly low on my priority list compared to goalkeeper and a new center back as well.
