Its difficult because we never see what goes on behind the scenes therefore we can only rely on the press reports and the club's judgement on things. That said I do feel some players get a raw deal for whatever reason, Riordan and Killen spring to mind and not forgetting Aliadiere, he was a total mystery to me.

I honestly believe that there are players brought in for more reasons than just because they are good. I reckon some deals are purely business (Adam Virgo) and others are for a tactical advantage as absolutely crazy as that sounds.

I mean if you can get a player in on a free that could have otherwise stayed at a rival club nocking in goals against you its not a bad bit of business is it especially if you can shift them on for a profit.

I have to be honest I have seen nothing on Killen or Balde that would indicate either are going just yet.

I do hope its true but at the minute it just sounds like a rumour made up by someone who was having a good chinwag in the pub

That would be excellent if we could get rid of most of the guys who have no chance of getting into the first team, bbut we need to be fast to get other players in before the transfer window closes.

It would be a massive bonus to get rid of guys like Killen, Riordan, Balde and Doumbe because we could actually bring players in that might play.

good. Didn't see the value in signing killen in the first place. An the sooner bobo's off the wage bill the better.

    seriously ?

i'd take him in a heartbeat, aye he's a fat *, but he can finish the ball, we're crying out for a striker who doesn't need 15 chances before he will hit the target.

Don't agree with you on Virgo as he was a waste of money and i don't think we would ever have made money on him.

We' have had some pretty good deals in the last few years though, obviously the Miller deal was great. But we've made good money on youth players as well, we got money for Marshall, Beattie, Bjarnson, Lawson, Gardyne, Irvine, Wallace and Maloney(unfortunately) Although some players may not have went for a lot of money it's better getting something rather than nothing, which can be the case with some youth players contracts just expiring.

We've lost money some players as well though Jarosik, Zurawski, Laursen, Valgaeran and Sylla were released if not sold for much cheaper. I didn't include players that were later on in their career such as Lennon, Thompson and Lambert.

I think we've done really well with contracts in the last few years. Getting McGeady, Boruc and McDonald on long term contracts is brilliant. I think there's only two player that have turned down contracts in recent years and that's Maloney and Miller, McNamara was offered a contract after he had accepted one from Wolves I believe.

As long as we keep making profits and signing players then I'm happy.

Sorry mate what I meant with Virgo was that he was some form of business deal not a deal for profit or football. Why we ever signed him is beyond me. I mean MON must have seen something to start the deal but WGS finished it which leads me to believe it was a deal done about business over football.

I would take the Balde story as pretty solid, Chick Hun's got the Big Ecky Hotline by his bed.
