Unlucky not to get an assist. Terrific ball across.

I'd be surprised if he hasn't lost a bit of pace since he left us, but I could tell you he'd still be far, far quicker than Taylor (and probably still quicker than Johnston)

Really coming round to this now, we needed two LB'S either way, and convincing another top LB to join to be understudy shouldn't be too difficult, as Tierney will obviously not play every game, I'd be shocked if he even played 75% of games.

Can't be a LB the same level as Ralston or even Taylor though, as @McChiellini.. said, needs to be better.

I don't really care who's account it's coming from, would just prefer we didn't sign someone who's history suggests will be sidelined for large parts or the season and when the funds could go elsewhere while trying to improve that area. Any player is at risk of injury at any time, but active pursuing someone so prone to it seems unwise to me.

Will obviously support him fully if he ends up here, but having followed his career since leaving us I don't think it will be long before he'd be out for fair stretch.

I've always been against him coming back, and still feel the same if pressed. However, if he came along with someone like Valle on a perm I'd be more agreeable. Fact doesn't change that he's a crock, like it or not, and no way we could rely upon him long-term. I also don't agree he's better now than he was when he left. More experienced, sure, but he's no doubt lost a bit of his explosiveness due to hamstring injuries.

Even if he isn't the 'bombing past the right back' type of player when 21, he has a lot more to his game now, can play across back line, is calm and composed on the call, aggressive and decisive with forward passes and has ben exceptional for Scotland.
He is a level above pretty much everyone at the club, and two levels above Taylor and Valle.
He'll be a fantastic influence off the park too.

Even if we get 25 games per season, a little bit like CCV he is a massive upgrade and a real statement signing.
I just don't get the reluctance from some on here.

I think the likes of Newcastle will be in for him, so we'll need to do a good sales job.
I'm super excited by this, it's not often an opportunity for a top drawer player comes along - let's grab it.

I just can wrap my head around people turning there noses up at KT.
On his day he's world class.
He has had injuries, but so did Craig Gordon and John harts on and they were fine.
The folk talking about wages as if it comes out there pockets is wild as well. Bring him home and manage him well and we will be laughing. If you said to me, we will sell KT for 25M and have him back on a free in his Prime years even with his injuries I would snap your hand off.

Get Tierney back in and try extend Valle loan deal for another season, or offer Barca a deal for him, similar that we have done with Benfica with a larger sell on fee. Then next season they can share the left back spot. Tierney and Valle as left back options would be amazing !!

It doesn't matter how good he is if he's never able to play.
If we can manage his fitness and rotation with an able deputy then I'm all for it.

I can't remember the last time we had a decent left back, since eh Tierney.:giggle1:

We sold him for £25M, and get him back at still only 27 for arguably a token fee and moderate wages, seems like a real steal to me.

He is excellent defensively and offensively, and plays with aggression up and down the flanks all day, and plays for the jersey.

What more could we want.? Have Frame and Anderson as credible understudys.

I do get where you're coming from I was only joking really but I think we have managed injuries relatively well recently and he would be one I would certainly take a risk on.

The only thing that I would be happy with is if we have another good LB if he does return.

The wages will be within what we are comfortable to pay. We as a club are not in the habit of overspending above our means, so the finances does not pose any issues to me.

As previously mentioned, as long as we have another good option to come in where is does not impact us performance wise then I would be happy to have him back.

Who's turning their noses up at him? That's a gross oversimplification of where the majority of us against the signing are.

You're also grossly understating his injury record. He's not played more than 70% of games in a season since the season BEFORE he left us. He's literally just come back for Arsenal, after getting injured in June. That's nearly 6 months out. After being out injured for 4 months in Spain the year before that and 3 months for Arsenal the year before that. It's an extremely long list of injuries for a player who should be hitting his peak years.

He's a phenomenal football player when fit but signing a guy on mega wages, with an injury record as bad as you can get, for a problem position that has plagued us since he left, ironically enough, would be gross negligence in my opinion.

If it was anyone other than KT, people would be far more realistic over this signing. People are getting too emotional about it, in my opinion.

Would be great to have him back. Valle on another season long loan to rotate with him would be ideal but if we're getting him on a free, we can afford to shell out on another left back if Barcelona don't want that. You shouldn't need to play the same guys every single match. That's where we're heading hopefully. Guys like McGregor, Maeda, CCV etc need rested against lower level SPFL teams.

Valle will be heading back in January I think. I’d be all for KT returning. KT with Taylor playing the home games v bottom 6 and early cup games.
