Personally I think he’s done so not chomping at the bit for him to come back.

However, if he was to come back in some capacity the deal would need to be structured in a more bespoke way.

In my mind it would need to be very minimal salary per week and then a handsome appearance bonus if he can meet certain milestones I.e. 10 games, 20 games.

You can’t take a guy like that back on the wages he was on at us previously/Arsenal as it creates a massive opportunity cost I.e. no wage budget left for another LB

Twice on a Saturday would be a 9 month injury right enough

Don't see him coming back here potentially to the man who it can argued is the epicentre of KTs injury record which followed him to Arsenal.

Unless by some miracle we can suddenly see into the future and we know KT will be rock solid for around 25 games a season he sadly just isn't worth the wage

Still think the tackle that he never got over was that one when the Motherwell player followed through on him late at CP. Looked like he meant it as well. Deliberate tackle, not even sent off , might have only got booked.

Imagine Arsenal release him from his contract and he comes here, plays a 50 game season under oor Brendan and we punt him to Real Madrid for another £30m

The treatment he got in general up here that went unpunished was shocking.

    * 12 mill on him and pay him record breaking wages.....then watch as he breakdowns after 40 mins of his glorious return to Celtic then goes on to spend around 80% of the rest of his Celtic career out injured. If we were to buy him that's what would happen.

Or he stay fit like he fid in spain last season, went on to instantly be the best player in the team and his value would sky rocket. You just never know but I do understand the concern obviously. He would be much safer playing lcb.

    https://tbrfootball.com/kieran-tier...ants-to-leave-arsenal-to-head-back-to-celtic/

After joining Arsenal from Celtic back in 2019, it seems as if Kieran Tierney’s chapter in north London is finally coming to a close.

Tierney swapped Celtic Park for the Emirates Stadium at a time when his career was really taking off, deciding that Arsenal was the right next step.

And although the former Celtic favourite enjoyed a productive start in N5, he suffered a series of injuries during the 2020/21 campaign that really halted his progress.

Before his position in the squad worsened, it looked to all that Tierney would go on to captain Arsenal one day, a brilliant professional who led by example on the pitch.

However, once Mikel Arteta welcomed Oleksandr Zinchenko to the club, Tierney was essentially rendered surplus to requirements – he no longer suited the club’s plans

That being said, TBR Football understands that Tierney is ready to move back to Celtic.

Kieran Tierney keen to leave Arsenal for Brendan Rodgers reunion at Celtic
Given the reasons listed, Arsenal are ready to let Tierney leave and Celtic are also keen to bring the Scotland international back to the club.

Tierney currently has 18-months left on his Arsenal deal and was understood to be in talks over a move back to Parkhead in the summer before a serious hamstring injury curtailed that

The left-back suffered the injury whilst playing for Scotland at the Euros, and is still yet to return.

Tierney has been training individually recently, but it is expected that he will be properly back in time for January, at which point he can seek a move.

Arsenal are ready to let the Scot leave on loan and that is a deal that would interest Celtic.

Long-term, Arsenal would be open to a deal that would make it possible for Celtic to complete a permanent move.

And as stated, sources believe that Tierney has made a move back to Glasgow his priority.

Rodgers refused to rule out Tierney returning to Celtic
Interestingly, Brendan Rodgers, who Tierney enjoyed working with before at Celtic, said ‘you never know’ when discussing a possible return for the full-back last year.

Rodgers alluded to the fact that Celtic wouldn’t be able to pay an enormous fee to Arsenal, and his words perhaps suit the kind of arrangement listed above.

Rodgers said: “When I spoke to him down the road in the Premier League, every time we met up all we talked about was Celtic. He’s a Celtic man but he’s at a fantastic club in Arsenal.

“You can just never say never in football. Who knows what might happen? We wouldn’t be able to buy Kieran for £25-£30m, that’s for sure, or the figures I see banded about.

“I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t be able to pay the huge salary he’s on. However, one can never tell. Kieran has an incredible history with the club. He was a massive part of my time here, so there will always be that link. You never know

Forgotten Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney could make an emotional return to former club Celtic.

Scotland international Tierney has been told he can leave north London in January and Celtic are understood to be monitoring his situation.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of his admiration of Tierney from his first spell with the Glasgow giants.

Tierney has not played since suffering a serious hamstring injury during Scotland’s draw with Switzerland at this summer’s European championships in Germany

The 27-year-old played more than 100 SPL games for Celtic before a £25million move to Arsenal in the summer of 2019

He’s absolutely crocked but if we could get him for less than 5 mill on 30-40k a week it’s well worth the punt. Genuinely believe he was the best left back on the planet for a period at Arsenal.
