No thanks, rather have someone without injury history for money we’d spend on KT.

Im a tad torn, obviously he's quality and would be a great addition, but his injuries are beyond the pail.

Think it's risky £10m on him, mind you him with Taylor getting a lot of game time in SPL and Cups could maybe have him more prominent in big games. And he's good at CB too.

    Love KT.

Love him as a player. Love him as a tim.

But * no. His injuries are simply too much, and given how Rodgers ran him into the ground last time around it's a massive no. Purely from a financial point of view. He'd take a big fee, a big wage, and an obvious signing on fee to balance the shortfall of what he could get in the EPL.

Again, love KT, but no thanks.

I can't remember in all honesty, but did the injury problem not come after he left us? Cant seem to remember him being out much playing for us. Maybe im totally wrong.

Definitely started at us. Got ran into the ground here and played so many games he shouldn't have even been in consideration for. Used to make me wince watching him try to run at points.

Arsenal rehabilitated him and spent a lot of time and money getting and keeping him as fit as he is now.

Our setup I 'd hope has improved but doubt it'll be able to manage his injuries any where near as well.

You are probably right. I dont remember how he was used in spain. Did he get game time or was he used as a sub mainly? Maybe he is one of these players who need regular game time to stay away from injuries. Highly doubt it though. I dont know that much about his "injury pattern" so to speak.

Didn't follow closely his time in Spain but it seemed to go fairly well. I do think he was out for a spell injured though.

I might agree if I didn't think there's a very good chance the rest of his career could mean about 6 weeks.

Aye a think he has struggled more with Arsenal due to the league being more attacking so will naturally have to sprint more.

No he did not. he struggle the last season he played for us so much that Peter Lawell sat down with chairman of Arsenal and had longtime chats over the fee Celtic wanted no less than 25 m wich we got, bur Arsenal wanted to pay around 15-18 m upfront and between 5-8 m after bonuses but Peter Lawell was not having it!! People always say hes overpaid but hes worth every penny in negotiation , my opinion. HAIL HAIL from Sweden

He only started 10 games for Sociedad. Played 27 overall. His overall minutes were like 1500. He missed 21 games through injury last season.

Tierney played through injury pretty much the whole of 2018/19 with us. Had 10+ fewer appearances than the previous season in the league and should have been more as a lot of the games he did play he shouldn't have.

Went to Arsenal and had limited game time first season as we'd basically wrecked him.

If you go back through this thread there's plenty of comments on it.

It is almost as i am trying my hardest to change my mind and agree with the risks of injury, but i just think the quality of the player is to good to turn down. We are loeaded and if we can spend millions of james * mccarthy, this is a risk i am willing to take.

I am highly confident that Tierney wants the move, but our greedy * at the helm won't.

I don't think you can blame the board in this instant for being greedy *. If they're willing to spend £10m on Tierney and £40k a week in wages, they can do that for someone else who isn't injured for half the season and there will be plenty of players around Europe who will be available.

David Jurasek from Benfica is one I hope we are keeping an eye on. Had a decent spell on loan in Germany last year after having a poor start in Portugal. Hoffenheim didn't activate his release clause of £10m, so we should be all over that. At 23, he's a good age, he's played over 100 games in Germany, Portugal and Czechia. He's also broken into the International team and is going to the Euros with Czechia.

There are plenty of players out there. I've genuinely seen posters in here laugh off a free Ryan Sessegnon from Spurs because of his injury history but are willing to break our transfer record for Kieran Tierney who is injured as much.

You are correct, but we all know that we will end up with a 21 year old project from somewhere like Denmark. That is my main concern. Someone mentioned Sessegnon, which is a great shout, and as you say Jurasek is a great shout as well, but we just seem to gamble huge on a project every time which has a 80% fail rate.

If you placed Tierney next to a project, i would go for Tierney any day, but i hope the board wake the * up and start getting 26-28 year old players. We need the experience as i think that with some experience we will be Much, much stronger in europe.
