Would be quite a * move but suppose he's only going for UCL. Doubt they'll reach those heights again.

Has there been any other LB links outside Tierney and Merlin? Even.then the latter's links have went dead silent.

I just can’t see how a move over to Spain would appeal to him in the slightest unless it’s literally the only option he has outwith arsenal.

If we are able to put an offer in I would hazard a guess he’d rather come here than go there.

If he's homesick in London then why would he go to Spain? Just can't see it.

Is he actually homesick though, I keep seeing our fans claiming it as a reason he'll come back here but always just assumed it was wishful thinking, has any proper source ever quoted it?

On his day, would be a fantastic signing, even on loan.
Loan would only delay the need for a proper signing, but still would be over the moon - assuming we also fixed the other issues with a similar calibre.

    However....

He's injury prone to * these days and I'm honestly not sure we would see the whole season out of him.

Think paddy Roberts last loan stint, we would know the player and talent is there, but would never get the joy of it.

Depends, better weather and a better league for sure.
On the face of it as well, sociedad are better prepared for European football than we are.

Does well for a year there, he could get a permanent move. Sociedad could afford him, or other clubs around their top four for sure.

It’s more the fact he suffered badly from homesickness when he moved to London. Sociedad would be a great move and probably more beneficial for his career than another season here but hopefully we can tug on his heartstrings and that sways him.

Ornstein saying he’s off to Sociedad with full wages paid + a fee. We can’t compete with that at all.

A shame, really thought we had a chance there.

Full wages paid. Says it all..

No chance that was ever gonna happen at us..

This is the first day out of this saga that I thought it might've actually been on :giggle1:

At least we can move on in the knowledge that it's definitely no him and we've clearly got someone else lined up..

Full wages plus a fee meant we never had a sniff at it, even on deadline day I doubt we could have come up with anything financially that would have even tempted arsenal

Real Sociedad are close to reaching an agreement with Arsenal for the signing of Kieran Tierney on a season-long loan.

The deal does not include an option or obligation to buy the Scotland international but Sociedad are paying a loan fee and covering Tierney's salary in full.

A deal is not yet signed but if everything goes to plan he will travel to Spain and undergo a medical over the weekend.

Sociedad were the 26-year-old's chosen destination due to his desire to play regular first-team football and compete in the Champions League, and Arsenal are understanding of those wishes.

Tierney is yet to feature in the Premier League for Arsenal this season having not been included in either of Mikel Arteta's matchday squads. His last start for Arsenal came in the 3-0 league defeat to Brighton on May 14.

Tierney's only appearance this season came in the FA Community Shield when he replaced the now injured Jurrien Timber in the second half.

“It’s not really up to me," Tierney said last month on his future. "I’m happy, I’m working hard every day and getting minutes. I’m just trying to do as well as I can."

Sociedad are 13th in La Liga after two draws from their opening two fixtures.

Sociedad's first fixture after September's international break is a trip to Real Madrid.

Spanish league will be good for him, slower pace and not so physical on his body.
So when he comes to us he's got that euro experience under his belt.

Pleased for him that he got a decent move. No a bad place to play as well.

I was hoping to get him back on loan along with Jota to see the meltdown the huns would have screaming corruption and money laundering :rofl:

It’s a shame but no surprise as they can afford his wages and we cannot.

I like your thinking there. Play out the last 2 years on his contract and then come to us on a free in a couple of seasons.
