Theres no way he's coming back at this moment in time. Not the now anyway. He will come back. I have a serious hunch about this. But it wont be until he's in his 30s and probably gettting on a bit. Hopefully it wont be a James McCarthy scenario

Last season here it was obvious he was breaking down. Definitely had issues since. Came off at least once when playing for Scotland and pretty sure he was unavailable at certain points too.

Tierney has the heart of a lion but not sure that's always been a good thing for his career.

Not really sure how it's arguable that he's not prone to injury in all honesty.

He missed 10 games out of 50 plus games for arsenal with 1 injury. Players get injured just Need to wait and see

He is injury prone. There’s no doubt on that, he was fit playing a very small amount of football last season.

However, if on a loan it’s an option, and he plays 50% of our games at least, we manage him into playing the big games, we’re a far, far, far better team.

True. But surely we should be looking to sign a LB, who is an improvement on Taylor and can play week in, week out?

I’d still love Tierney back but it’s a risk. All it takes is an injury and he’s out for 3 months - leaving us with Taylor for the European games.

I know that can happen to anyone but Tierney is injury prone.

Honestly mate, if Taylor comes in so his schedule isn’t too heavy and we nurse him into the big games, he’s that level of player that it’s more than worth it.

He’s a world class player Kieran Tierney. And he brings with him an attitude and mentality only matched by Callum McGregor for us. It’d be a monumentally massive deal.

It is a risk mate, definitely a risk, one I’d be more than willing to take though. Because he used to play for us I think people underestimate just how * good he is, he was already a cut above at us. He’s improved a lot since then, 35/40 games out of him, carefully managed to not strain his body, then we’ve got a hold of a level of guy that we just could not get near otherwise.

But yes he is prone to injury. That’s unarguable or it should be. He thought he was going to need to retire his last season at us, Arsenal done a lot for him to nurse him through back to a semblance of consistent run of games without a breakdown but he is at that level now where carefully managed game schedule and training schedule, he can do it.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be buzzing if he comes back. Love him and you're right, he's an incredible full back.

Him and AJ as the full backs would give us so much power and pace on both sides - something we've not had in a long time.

Everycunt would be that buzzing about it any concerns would be right out the windy mate.

But then it’d be containing that and choosing the times he’s needed 100% in there. And us as a fanbase, and this one I’m no convinced we can do, being ok when Taylor starts a Saturday so he can play a Wednesday night.

Get what you are saying but given how often Rodgers played him his last season here, when he obviously should have been rested, think him coming here with Rodgers in charge has disaster written all over it.

And that is the major problem I have with Rodgers, first season here he’d never have played him through injuries, similar to Rogic taking injections.

That was pure selfishness and no care towards the future and taking care of the here and now until he could escape with his name in high standing still. It’s the one thing I can’t forgive him for. And we’re just lucky Calmac’s a freak of nature that it didn’t happen there as well.

Arsenal won't want to sell him to a direct rival, and if Sociedad is the only option on the table, I don't see why we couldn't be in the running.

The only issue I can see is Arsenal's POV, what benefit do they get sending him up here? Aye they avoid sending him to a direct rival, and I don't see Sociedad buying him either, but I don't think sending him on loan to us makes much sense from Arsenal's perspective.

Hope I'm wrong as he's the type of player that would be a game changer in the CL, it's actually better for Taylor too if we bring someone like Tierney in, as he'll get plenty of games to make sure Tierney doesn't risk injury and, as I said earlier, Tierney isn't coming here on a Permanent deal.

If he doesn’t get sold, I reckon we get him on loan last day of the window.

That’s where I’m at. I don’t think he will get sold either, big wage, dodgy injury history and will need a big fee.

The problem is, can we wait until the last day of the window? It’s a gamble on our part, because we definitely need to bring one in.

If he's no bombing down that left hand side at Ibrox embarrassing Tavernier all afternoon then what are we playing at?

The lack of any talk about another LB makes me think Rodgers doesn’t think it’s a definite need.

And if the only thing of wee Berny he’s seen is pre-season, I hope Kennedy’s elbowing his ribs saying mate, no, you can’t teach him how to defend he doesn’t know how :56:

Cos Bernabei looked * hot pre-season. And Taylor is a player he’ll love. I fully think it’s a case of if an outstanding option appears.

Fitness is always a concern, but it would be great to have him back.

I’ll be worried if we don’t bring in a left back and a goalkeeper to be honest. I’d like another couple of starters on top of that, but we simply have to improve in they two positions.

Aye, Bernabei ain’t no defender, that’s for sure :giggle1:

Rodgers will know what's required and that will include a new LB and GK.
