Doubt there's anything in this, lazy journalism, he has 3 years left on his contract at Arsenal if they actually want rid there's any number of EPL teams that would take a punt on him for a fee and wage well beyond us, and if they want to loan him out so he gets more game time and comes back sharp I doubt they'd see the SPL as a good option, considering he'd just get lumps kicked out of him same as he did before.

See they're still churning out this pish in the media.

Saying both parties are open to a loan move, why would Arsenal even begin to look at this option, he'll still bring them a profit.

Newcastle were on the verge of breaching financial fair play rules. They can't be signing more expensive players.

Maybe there will be a loan with an obligation to buy to get around the rules.

I agree but on second thought, they might think if he goes and has an amazing season injury free he would be worth even more.

Don’t want him back. Too injury prone.

Maybe the offers aren't there. Given how little football he's had, stick him out on a loan somewhere you know he's going to perform, then sell him. Better option if he's the time left on the contract.

I'm not sure they will be able to sell him at a profit off a loan to us. Loaning to a bottom half club and him starting 30 plus games would probably be more likely to get him a sale. those teams would also be able to pay a bigger chunk of his wages

Don’t really see how Arsenal could expect a profit in selling him just now at all

Honestly not sure what the concerns are. If he is available on a season long loan at an affordable price let's go for it. Sure he has struggled with injuries but players can and often put these problems behind them. I'd gamble on him and let's be honest, if he stays fit our team is stronger for having him.

If there is any truth in this I am all for it

BRENDAN RODGERS admits he wouldn’t rule out a sensational Celtic return for Kieran Tierney.

SunSport revealed on June 27 that the Arsenal and Scotland star would consider a move back to his boyhood heroes

    Left-back Tierney played under
    Rodgers before joining the Gunners.

    And the
Celts boss has told how a loan deal could be a possibility before the transfer window slams shut.

Rodgers said: “There’s been lots of players linked with here with me coming back.

All I know is Kieran is like myself, we loved our time here.

When I spoke to him down the road in the
Premier League, every time we met up all we talked about was Celtic.

“He’s a Celtic man but he’s at a fantastic club in
    Arsenal.

“You can just never say never in football. Who knows what might happen?

We wouldn’t be able to buy Kieran for £25-£30million, that’s for sure, or the figures I see banded about.

I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t be able to pay the huge salary he’s on.

    “However, one can never tell.

“What I would say is that we have a couple of really good left-backs here already.

“I have been really impressed with young
    Greg Taylor.

“Watching him come in and settling in at Celtic, he’s been excellent.

“Bernabei is still young and adapting, but I’ve liked those two during the course of pre-season.

“Kieran has an incredible history with the club.

“He was a massive part of my time here, so there will always be that link. You never know.”

If we're looking at anything it will be a loan.

As Rodgers indicated, we can't afford to buy him outright, or to pay his wages.

It's highly dependent on Arsenal being "super * chill" about the financial aspects of it, and that's a rarity for any professional football side in today's game.

A fully fit KT with Taylor as a back up would be fantastic, with Betn offering extra cover through a few subs and extended minutes in cup games.

But anyone who doesn't think his injury history couldn't be massive red flag, especially with Rodgers, the man who literally ran him into the ground, needs to take off the green tinted specs.

If I'm honest,I'd rather we dropped 4-8m on a new LB on a permanent transfer.

Probably been said already but this is one that goes all the way to deadline day. If he's still at arsenal by then and no one comes in to buy him will probably be a loan. Probably where the link comes from agents will have asked the question on the off chance..

Would all be down to Tierney, Arsenal could easily get, at bare minimum, £20 million for him, and even then I'd very much doubt they'd accept that.

At the same time, If tierney puts his foot down, they'll either need to keep him for an additional year whilst he's clearly not in Arteta's plans, or loan him to us, where they can still sell him for a decent fee the following season.

it's still incredibly unlikely, but not impossible this happens. 100% a last week of August deal if it does go through.

This is one rumour that doesn't seem to be going away. Then to have the manager actually name him. Cant decide if it's the new yearly whiff of paddy Roberts or has a big element of may actually happen in it. Obviously we'd want him. He'd improve us so much instantly. I want it to be true but still can't bring myself to believe its anything but paper talk.

KT not denying it, BR not denying it and Arsenal not ruling it out.. 100% something is being talked about.

It's an almighty gap to bridge between what he gets at Arsenal to what he'd get here but ya never know.. defo last day of the transfer window type deal ha

Surely we can bridge these wage gaps with sign on fees? A one off payment keeping the day to day wage bill down and deals with the issue of having too much money in the bank without the ability to buy such highly valued players because of the wages.

I'm not sure if that's legal? Can ya just chuck someone a few million quid because ya don't want to pay his wages? Genuinely havnt a clue. Slippery slope to go down too that could upset other players. Can't see it. If we can fit him into our wage structure it coukd happen but I can't see us doing anything differently just to get him.
