He would be the best LB in the world right now if it wasn't for his injuries.

Even at that he's still world class and not far from it, if he can stay injury free once he recovers (which is a big if) he'll achieve it with ease.

 

At one stage I’m convinced KT played the most mins of ANY outfield player in Europe.

As put earlier, there should have been a long term development plan, but that appeared to get put aside - as there was no affordable and reliable replacement to back him up and allow him time to rest.

Calmac had a similar unwanted statistic a following year, and has seen his form dip across this season in particular.

Mental how this has been allowed to happen over the past 3-5 years at our club.

 

Think he will move to a better team in the summer.

 

Only injuries are stopping him moving to an elite team.

When fully fit I’d only have Ferland Mendy, Theo Hernandez, Alphonso Davies, or Alex Sandro over him, and you could argue he’s more well rounded than all of them.

Another injury. Would probably move in the summer without that. Maybe we really did wear him out.

 

Only Hernandez and an on-form Robertson are as good as him, for me. Mandy & Davies flatter to deceive defensively. Sandro loses the ball a lot, as does Telles (I know you didn’t name him, but I think he’s another contender).

Even then, I’d play Tierney at LB for Scotland. Think we’re missing a trick not doing a Lahm with Robertson and moving him to centre-mid.

 

he’s one of the best in the PL but no the world. People have went from massively underrating him to overrating him.

Theo and Lucas Hernandez better, Ferland Mendy, Chilwell but that’s debatable, Gosens, Alex Sandro, Davies and Alba are all better

 

Davies is terrible defensively when he can’t use pace to bail himself out. Look at what PSG just done to him.

 

Lucas Hernandez is a different type of full-back altogether: more similar to a centre-back, and not really comparable in style to Tierney at all.

Foe me, Tierney is better balanced than most of the ones you name. Davies defensively fairly weak even, imo. Alba was better, but to me he’s declined in recent years and is on, at most, a similar level to Tierney.
Sandro has better technique, but like I said, I’ve seen him be v wasteful too, and I’d question his game intelligence. Would say similar (but to a lesser extent) for Robertson, whom I rate v highly.

Mendy isn’t as poorly rounded as Davies, but isn’t as good at the defensive side as Tierney, imo.

Chilwell is a class beneath most of these names, imo - along with the likes of Digne, etc. I’d put Davies there too.

Gosens, especially if we’re going on form, is Tierney’s equal - fair play - and Theo Hernandez is arguably the best in the world right now. To me, KT fits in just ahead of Robertson and Mendy in the top 3, currently.

 

Pish if he misses the Euros..

Doesn't he have the same condition as Andy Murray with how he moves at the lower joints and hips..

I fear injuries will plague his career.

 

Played tonight, I thought he was out for the season?. Hopefully they haven't rushed him back as a big player for us in the Euros.
