He had surgery for a hernia and a problem with swelling on his pelvis which seems to be on the mend, it's not as if he had his leg amputated and stitched back on.

    Seriously? Just * seriously!?

KT is a genuinely world class LB. How many other world class £25 million players do we have in the team... or are we on the verge of signing? It was a double hernia op FFS. Sure, he might very well not be the same player he was, but that goes for every one who ever played the game whenever they enter a new season - we just don't know!

We should be over the * moon if he stays!

Logically if we thought his injury was likely to hinder him that much going forward we would have caved and sold him already.

So, if we are playing the hypothetical game, it is just as likely that if we keep him he gets back to his best, plays brilliantly for us, and his value goes up again. We get the double benefit of having a great player and the increase in value. And we can still further strengthen the squad this window.

That's the good thing about him being on a long term contract, we can afford to wait and see.

This will only happen if KT goes (I know you are playing the hypothetical game) but in reality any further business will be down to significant sales.

Not necessarily. It may also depend on us getting at least guaranteed Europa league group stage football. Which will be the case if we get past Cluj.

My feeling right now is, we have a strong enough team to seal the 9. And our current form and the opponents i see us favourites to even enter champ lg. However i would feel more comfortable with another RB and Cb cover. But right now i dont feel we need to strengthen up front. If we get into the champ lg, we may strengthen in Jan again. Thats always an ace up our sleeves.

KT staying is huge in my opinion.

I believe Tierney might even be looking at the outcome of tonight's game. If we get battered, he might push for a move. A good result that gives hope in progressing to playoffs, and he will think we have a shot at making CL.

But is shouldn’t Lupis we have plenty cash in bank, record ST sales again. A multi million deal with New Balance, Dafabet and Magners probably hunderds of thousands in strip sales again.

You could have spent £25m in the summer and then covered that if you got to CL it then make a sale it’s mental to gamble year after year imo.

Even when we make Europe we sign * all anyway!

2012 - Lassad, Miku (loan) and Ambrose
    2013 - Pukki
    2014 - Scepovic
    2015 - Simunovic (sold VVD £13m)
    2016 - Gamboa
2017 - Edouard and Roberts loan
2018 - Benkovic (loan) and Mulumbu

We don’t have a strong enough back line for the season. Current form? We have played 5 games - 2 of the against a team from Estonia and although st Johnstone was a great performance they have been pumped by league 1 teams.

No way are we favourites for the CL it’s 50/50 at best.

Ace up our sleeves and tens of millions squirrels away

I didn't say it should. You said it depends on player sales, I was just pointing out how that they may not be the case.

Thats why i said another RB and CB would make me feel more comfortable. But the rest of what u are saying is unproven. We signed a brillant French defender, Ajer is another year older, KT hasnt left(yet), a decent LB as a backup. the Isreali guy is an unknown quantity for all of us, so its no fair to judge it as yet. But we need more cover for sure.

I see our form as good. We beat a side 7-0 on aggregate. Meanwhile last years Euro lg semi finalist Eintracht Frankfurt 'scraped' two 2-1 victories of the number two in the Estonian lg. So i believe we are hitting good early form. 14-0 goals in three competitive games prove that. Sometimes the glass aint half empty but half full.

Ps. I do see us as favourites against Cluj and Slavia. Specially Slavia, i used to live in Prague and watched them often. Keep an eye out still for them. They sold their 4 best players. From the new ones only stanciu i rate, but he failed in Belgium as being too static.

Indeed. They are very tricky ties. But we are the favourites, not by a huge margin as in the other rounds.

Arsenal have just rejected a 30million pound bid for Iwobi. He's absolutely shocking yet they won't bid a fair amount for tierney

ARSENAL are frantically working to get another centre-half in before tomorrow’s transfer deadline after pulling the plug on a move for Juventus’ Daniele Rugani.

The club are still in negotiations with Celtic over a £25million deal for Scottish international full-back Kieran Tierney.

But signing another centre-back to replace Laurent Koscielny is now Unai Emery’s top priority.

They are still exploring the possibility of negotiating a loan deal for Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti even though the French international is currently on the club’s pre-season tour of the USA.

But they could not agree payment terms with Juventus and have now accepted that deal is not going to happen.

They have also walked away from a potential move for RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upemacano after being quoted a £55million fee.

And the urgent need to acquire a new centre-half could yet have repercussions on a deal for Tierney, which has been in the pipeline for more than a month.

Scottish Champions Celtic appear to be finally paving the way for Tierney to leave and are already lining up potential replacements.

But the terms of repayment for the £25million fee have still not been finalised.

And if Arsenal need to come up with big cash for a centre-half, it could yet affect their ability to sign Tierney.

Arsenal have already completed the signings of Nicolas Pepe, William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli and the on loan Dani Ceballos this summer.

Yet thanks to some creative negotiating skills they have only spent around £35million so far and have also raised a further £25million from the sales of Laurent Koscielny, Carl Jenkinson, Krystian Bielik, David Ospina, Ismael Bennacer, Xavier Amaechi and Takuma Asano.
