I don't see any way that KT could've been at the Celtic festival tbh, given the current state of affairs.

£20M bid for * Oli McBurnie, no we should be letting him go for less than £40M. We don’t need to sell and the market is hugely inflated.

That cringey transfer talk just been on sky sports. Question was asked about Koscielny discipline and they spoke about what Emery wants in terms of incomings. 3 players, a CB, CM and a winger. No mention of LB or Tierney

*. By every measure Burke is better than McBurnie and he wasnt good enough to be here. How on earth can McBurnie cost 20 million? How much would Forrest cost then?

Less than half in all likelihood, despite being more than twice the player.

Modern football really is a shiter sometimes :giggle1:

Virgil Van Dijk insists Kieran Tierney has all the tools to be a smash hit at Arsenal.

But the Dutch superstar warned he’ll need to raise his game if he lands a dream move to the Gunners.

Celtic continue to play hardball with Unai Emery’s Premier League giants after rejecting two bids for the Scotland full-back with the latest being £25million which includes a payment structure and potential add-ons.

Emery admitted he’s in the market for a full-back after suffering a weekend friendly loss to Lyon and Liverpool hero van Dijk is adamant Tierney would be the answer after recalling the 22-year-old made his debut alongside the former Celt at Dens Park back in 2015.

He said: “It is not an easy step to make and you have to play well to do it. But he has the qualities.

Kieran made his debut against Dundee when I was at Celtic. I scored a free-kick up there and then he came on and helped us get the win.”

We can look at the market in Engurland and use comparisons to justify KT being worth 40 odd mil, but really none of that is relevant, it's all about what a club are willing to actually pay for him.

The reality is that right now there is only one club in with an offer, honestly thought there would've been a bidding war between a few clubs for KT's services.

I agree but we should have an incredibly high valuation of him. Think lots of people are comparing the prices saying we shouldn't sell ourselves short. If Arsenal don't like it, they can * off.

I'm surprised no one else is in for him. Maybe the injuries this season has dampened any interest. He would walk into most teams in England. He is a huge talent. If he does go, he'll be worth triple whatever anyone pays for him just like VVD.

The miraculous 2x, 3x and 4x uplift in our players value once they go to epl clubs is a sickening indication of how they value our players but don’t value our clubs or league by paying a fair fee in the first place.

Every one of us knows that one decent season down south and KT would suddenly be 50 , 60 or 70 million £.
I suppose part of the lowballing is the (unlikely) possibility that he may not be a success ... so clubs will look at it as a risk.... Even at half or less of his potential value.

We aren’t going to be able to change this approach any time soon if ever. I’m quite surprised that they are even talking 20 million plus.

I think Celtic need to use contract sell on clauses more to insure themselves against losing out to the ‘EPL effect’.

KT, JF, CalMac, RC etc. All players that will be targeted over the next few seasons and every offer (while huge in Scottish football terms) will be a ‘stinger’ because we will know it will double or treble in time.

I don’t know if there is a ceiling % for sell on clauses/fees but Celtic need to be pushing it every time now. In fact I’d be very surprised if PL and co weren’t exploring this already.
The ‘method’ was designed for clubs to benefit from players potentially becoming highly valuable down the line ... why should we go cut-price when in most cases it’s guaranteed?

5-10% seems to a be common proportion. We need to be going well beyond that to get what our players are ultimate worth.

As others have said... if buying clubs don’t like it... then do one!

I’d rather they all stayed as long as possible and won everything going anyway.

So that's how hard the press are reaching now with their sell KT narrative, there's no real news and no further bids so lets find an ex-player and try to steer them into saying he should move.
