It’s not as simple as that.. if BR, Agents, PL are telling you a move makes sense for you in footballing and financial terms and the club too, even if you don’t want to leave, it makes it a tough decision..

I actually think advice from his family will have a big bearing as he’s only 21 and still lives at home..

Griff is nowhere near the standard of KT, Dembele might have been a more viable argument..

    Better than Everton anyway.

I have nothing against Everton, but we need to progress ourselves one position up on the transfer chain, I want to see an end to the Academy/Smaller club - Celtic - Mid EPL - Top EPL chain.

We cut out that middle man, sell straight to the top, and once those players start proving themselves, it's an absolute game changer.

KT to stay though, I'm not worried.

I come into the category of not particularly caring much about a player when they leave Celtic.

if/when they go, where they go is down to their own decision mostly, so whoever they choose.....well hey ho.

All I care about is we get the best deal possible for the club, and a decent percentage of that is reinvested in the team.

All things being equal, Tierney will be worth at least £25m with two years left on his contract. If we sell him for that now, it’s a travesty - and poor business to boot.

Precisely the point, we need them to be going straight to the top and * off the VVD/Wanyama to Southampton middle man.

£10-20m max is what you get from these teams, the ceiling is far higher at the bigger teams, and selling straight to them not only heightens our top prospects ceiling, but it also heightens the Armstrongs, the Forsters etc.

KT/Moussa would then be out of range for them, so if they are still looking at our players they are paying former VVD/Wanyama money for an Armstrong, while the KT/Moussa's are going for big boy money.

Absolutely agree with everything you've said btw.

With the likes of Wanyama, Forster and Van Dijk, we started a precedent of not allowing our players to leave on the (relatively) cheap for a Scottish club. That was like 4-5 years ago.

Prices have well inflated since then, as have the ridiculous amount of over-inflated transfer fees - so if * want our brightest and best talent, then they're going to have to start paying "premiership" prices for them - somecunt wants Dembele? No less than £30m ya *. Somecunt wants Tierney? £40m and no less.

Time to stand hard and true.

A reporter using a sound bite is not gonna change KT prospects on staying with Celtic. He did not * up. I say it again he clearly stated the obvious and nothing more. He didn’t say anything we all didn’t know already

No, it can be as simple as that. If he wants to stay he will, he has a newly signed 6 year deal in his back pocket and a manager that, so far anyway, has shown he will normally be picking him, so the clubs stance or Pete's stance etc is pretty much irrelevant. (On BR comments I personally think he shouldn't have said as much as he did imo.)
I think he is a level headed young man who is perfectly capable of making a choice for himself, whether he lives at home or not. Sure he will listen to what is said, but ultimately it will be his choice. He can also speak to players, Broony and Sinclair, who have both had different paths and weigh up who he thinks has been more happy overall with their choices.

He will also no doubt be listening to advice from his old man too.

The reason Tierney was given a 6 year contract was to secure his services for at least another 6 years, or if any team wanted to come in and buy him, then by * they'll have to pay through the nose (well, for some at least) if they genuinely want him.

It's a win/win whatever way you look at it.

I really can't see him moving on for at least another 3 years, even then he'll only be 24 and still not at his peak. I don't see his value depreciating in that time, so why would we sell him? It's a non story as far as I'm concerned.

    * England and their overrated league,id rather KT went abroad and to a big team than down there.

And i'm also on the "STFU bus, about Rodgers and all this love on with down south" * them, you a Celtic manager no need to tongue the arses of they bitter * down south everytime your getting interviewed.

Keep our big players and add and we are onto something special, build a dream team than destroy it for money

agree, if Luke Shaw went for 30 million in 2014 then only 20 million for Tierney in 2018 would be hard to stomach.

Can't defend. End product is lacking..

Majorly regressed since injuries and isn't wanted by the outdated 1..

    disagree entirely

you dont find it strange that when it comes to jozo or boyata the answer is "we dont want to sell/ we dont encourage offers/ were not interested/ were trying to get him to sign on long term" but when it comes to kt its "we cant do anything about it"

what the * is going on?

What obviousness is it that he is stating?

Because for the rest of us its * obvious that both jozo and boyata are open to if not keen on a move away, kt signs a 6 year deal and we cant keep him? Celtic mad and dedicated to the club but its "Its down to the club in the end /he may have to go"

Either BR has chosen his words extremely poorly or he;s been told that we are actively trying to punt tierney. Both are * ups

    @Lancashire Nick

Cheers, I didn't realise Everton had such a rich and charitable history. That's the thing though, it's history and even though you say they're rebuilding, didn't they say that when Martinez went there then Koeman was going to resurrect them?

I can guarantee you if Everton bought KT this season they'd sell him for triple the price next season just like Southampton when the offers come in.

That's why I think, especially with Brendan here, we can now say * off to the mid table teams, we're not a cash cow for yous to take the pish out of anymore, we know what a good player looks like, class looks the same no matter what league they're in. Every single Celtic fan knew Wanyama and Virgil were worth much more than we got for them and the board's excuse was they wanted to leave and that was the highest bids we got.

Surely teams must be looking at the money Spurs and Liverpool paid and think * it we better start getting in there before Southampton with Celtic's best players because they're obviously more than capable.

With Brendan as coach I think EPL clubs will probably take us more seriously, just the way he got us playing and showed what we can do when motivated. KT was already brilliant though and he's only going to get better each year.

I might be talking nonsense but I remember after the first season KT played thinking he's so much of a Celtic fan, you can tell it just watching him his blood flows green and white, maybe be might not be as passionate for another club.

I'd love to see him stay till he's at least 24 (if not forever), learn as much as possible off Brendan and get us into the CL where he can gain more valuable experience and then go straight to a top European side.

We want to hold onto our best players though because what's the point in us trying to make even a slight impact in Europe if we're selling too easily? Our defence has suffered since Virgil left and no way could we replace him for the paltry sum we got. Ajer is going to be great though but in a couple years. Whatever happened to Denayer? I get the feeling he should have stayed another year.

Why don't we try and keep our best players and sell boyata or whoever else they want out of the backline ,in fact sell all them keep tierney.
