@kierantierney1 speaking to the media after receiving the award: "It's my first one, delighted with it. It's a hard thing to get, you have to play well every game. I couldn't have done it without the boys."

KT on teammates qualifying for the @FIFAWorldCup: "Everyone is buzzing for them. They are great players and it's brilliant for them. They got their digs in to us but we'll be supporting them."

KT: "When we got knocked out we felt the disappointment but next time we’ll look to improve. I was delighted (to captain @ScottishFA v Holland) and I tried my best playing at centre-back."

KT: "Wherever I'm told to play, I'll try my best. Left-back, centre-back or right-back, I don't really mind. Right-back was hard, especially when your strong foot is your left, but I'm happy playing anywhere."

KT on @RCFCStaggies: "It'll be a tough game, it always is up there."

KT on unbeaten record: "We didn't think too much about it but on the day it was in the team-talk. We don’t listen to any negative comments; it’s a 100-year record and the management deserve great credit."

KT: "It's madness to think I'm playing for my boyhood club and I'm closing in on 100 games."

 

BR on @kierantierney1's POTM award: "He's an exceptional young talent who works well consistently. A number of players in our squad could have won it but he's been outstanding and is developing well."


BR: "His best position is left-back. If he plays there for @ScottishFA, that's where they'll get the maximum from a super-talented player. He is very versatile but his threat when he plays out wide is where he is most effective."

BR: "He has a wonderful temperament and always works on areas that need improvement. He’ll play wherever he’s asked but he's more suited in a role here he can push forward, create and score goals."
