A think Dortmund, Liverpool, or Athletico would be great fit for him. Hopefully he avoids teams like Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham etc

 

I never said I would hold it against him. You've worded that quite sneakily.

I wouldn't want him to go though, and it certainly wouldn't make me proud to see him pulling on another teams shirt.

 

What the * has happened to our support?

Putting price tags on players the minute they have a good game and now talking about one of our own, a died in the wool Celtic fanatic, moving to other clubs and how that would make you proud?

Utter * madness.

Personally I want to see him win a European trophy with Celtic. Maybe that's just me though...

I don't believe 17 PL clubs were watching him. About 10/12 would have been wasting their time. Although the arrongane of these teams they probably think he love to play for any of them.

Think he'll see out another few years, certainly hasn't been any vibes coming off him about leaving more than complete opposite.

Lawwell - "Right Kieran, we are prepared to offer you 25k a week plus win bonuses."

KT - "I'll play for this club for nothing."

CELTIC’S impressive performance against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League might not have won them any points but Brendan Rodgers’ side certainly garnered many plaudits for the way they played against one of Europe’s top teams.

The Hoops were unlucky to lose the match 2-1, having drawn level through Callum McGregor’s goal, and the midfielder, along with fellow Celtic Youth Academy graduates, James Forrest and Kieran Tierney, were among many Celts who won deserved praise after the match.

For the Celtic manager, it was another sign of the progress that his team is continuing to make at this level.

“I was really pleased with the co-ordination in the team and how they worked the ball and played with composure at this level,” he said. “It’s another step for us in terms of being a competitive side but playing proper football. It’s a huge step for their confidence. Apart from the two goals we conceded defensively we were very good.

“Kieran up against Arjen Robben was outstanding again. Scott Brown was controlling in midfield and I thought Moussa was very good up front.

“Kieran’s a really special player. I’ve worked with what I’d consider to be the two left-backs in Britain in Danny Rose and Ryan Bertrand, and KT’s right up there with those boys. He’s still very young, but his quality, his will and his determination is there for all to see.

“He loves playing at Celtic and with nights like this you can see why he signed here. He’s a real special talent but also a boy that’s very focused on improving. For 20 years of age, to play with that composure is impressive.”










KIERAN Tierney is living the dream and getting showered with plaudits but it won’t change him or his fierce determination to continually improve as a Celtic player.

The boyhood Hoops fan produced another superb performance for the Scottish treble-winners against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, further proof of his ability to shine on the biggest stage.

And it came just 24 hours after he penned a new six-year contract with Brendan Rodgers’ side, testament to his rapid development since graduating from the Celtic Youth Academy three years ago.

“People are giving me compliments but I don’t like talking about my game too much,” Tierney said. “I just work hard every single day in training and see where it takes me, and if I can help the team then that is what I will do. My aspiration is to work hard every day, train hard and play on the Saturday and hopefully play well and see where it takes me.

"The club thought I was doing well enough so they have rewarded me with a new contract, and I’m delighted. I still had four years so there wouldn’t be much point if they weren’t going to extend my years. It’s great for both parties and everyone is delighted and it got done so quickly, which is always great.”

The 20-year-old was full of praise for his manager, Brendan Rodgers, who he believes can help his game continue to blossom over the coming years.

“He was very happy and I have a lot to thank him for,” Tierney said. “He made it happen and he put faith in me and trusted me in big games. That’s why I got it.

“It’s brilliant. I know I am still young and I have a long way to go and a lot of learning to do and I'm under the right manager to do that, and that’s why I am so happy. I have always had aspirations to play for Celtic and that’s what I am doing. I'm very happy here and that’s why I've signed a long-term deal.”

Tierney was part of a tremendous team performance against Bayern, in which Celtic went toe-to-toe with the German giants and merited more than a 2-1 defeat. There were plenty of positives for the Hoops to take from the display, however, and Tierney is delighted to be testing his talents in the UEFA Champions League.

“It’s making me a better player, being more switched on, and coming up against the best players in the world at such a young player is only going to benefit me,” he said.

“We played well against Bayern and we can be proud of our efforts. We didn’t get the result which was unlucky but we came up against a top team who were very clinical.”

The Bhoys also remain in pole position to claim third spot in the section and a Europa League spot ahead of their penultimate group game away to big-spending Paris Saint-Germain.

“We have two games left so we're hoping we can play well in both games and can get there,” said Tierney. “We will take confidence from the game the other night as that shows we can play at that level and we are getting better, but we also know they are a top team and we're away from home which will make it even harder for us.”

And the Scotland internationalist hopes his example will help inspire the next generation of Academy hopefuls in Paradise.

“Youth football is hard and I didn’t always play,” he said. “I wasn’t always a starter and there are hard times but you have to battle through them and work hard. I used to look at James Forrest and Aiden McGeady and how they did, so I hope they look up at me.”

 

Ah right. I see what you're saying now. I don't think Aidan wants to see Tierney leave, its more just a realisation that he will likely outgrow the club's on field capacity and will probably move on at some stage and we'd like to see him reach the top of European football if and when he does

If we could find another quality left back I would have him beside Brown.Would there be a harder midfield in Europe a wall of steel.
