25k p/w for 10/15 years would set him and his kids up for life as well and for some guys, being in surroundings they are happy and comfortable in is more rewarding that chasing extra bucks elsewhere.

Edit: not to mention the cost of living is at least 2/3 times (at least) more expensive down in London.

There's only a few teams in the EPL who pay over £100k per week to their players. Even Tottenham are shy with contracts like that.

Most however can afford and do pay in the £40k-£60k range, which I don't think would entice him. Not over ourselves.

It's a tough one for him. He could stay at Celtic and become a legend.

Or he could move and try develop and then get a move to a Barca/Real/Bayern 4/5 years down the line and become one of the biggest names on the planet.

Furthermore Tierney doesn't look like some guy who will spend all his money in coke, booze and whores when he is 40. He can be stinkingly rich when retiring even staying the entire career at Celtic. He is wise. Better earn a bit less at Celtic and becoming a legend than few years at the bench of some EPL solely because he is not a primma donna from abroad

Just had a read through some of the top EPL club forums; the ones linked with KT.

They are totally gushing over the lad. Talking about his attitude and ability. Moreso his excellent technical ability.

Sort of numbers banded about for him are about 9-10 million.

I've popped in their forums over the years when our players have been suited and normally players from here are brushed aside but it seems attitudes have drastically changed down there, yes there is still an air of scepticism due to our leagues generally quality but there is a real acceptance we have capable players.

Our manager now, our Euro performances, previous successful transfers. These points have clearly opened the eyes down there but from some comments, they are well aware our media are massively promoting individuals.....

We need to get away from being a club where epl teams can get bargain signings for. I'm not saying we should be charging epl prices but £13m for players like Wanyama and Van Dijk who are some of the best in their position in that league. £20m starting price no less for KT.

I actually think his technical ability is the one thing he has to work on.

Read earlier today that Celtic have put a price tag of £17m+ for him.

    Don't see him going anywhere.

If he was even slightly tempted then we need to do everything to keep him here.

For me, he is pretty much irreplaceable.

Everyone has a price and the club may decide to cash in at some point, that would be a very sad day..

Let's hope he's here for good.

I don't think money will be what sees him leave us. I imagine in 4/5 years he will decide he wants to test himself with a different team after we get 10 in a row and a few solid champions league performances.

Shows how good he is then though as he's the best passer and crosser of a ball we've had at full back by far. In my time anyway, probably a more technical dribbler than the rest as well, he's able to beat players on the inside or outside due to his ability to control the ball with both feet.
