KIERAN Tierney was as stunned as just about everyone inside the Global Energy Arena on Sunday when referee Don Robertson pointed to the spot after Alex Schalk’s blatant dive inside the area.

What should have been a yellow card for the Ross County forward was instead an opportunity for the home side to grab a late equaliser, which they duly did through Liam Boyce.

And Tierney, having been the victim of a similar diving incident at Tynecastle on the opening day of the Premiership season, was disappointed both by the County player’s actions and the subsequent decision of the referee.

Speaking after the game, the Hoops defender said: “I knew straight away it was a dive. It was the same in the first game of the season with Jamie Walker at Hearts and it’s not a nice part of the game.

“You can expect contact but you’re not going to go down if there’s no contact, it’s as simple as that. You get close to people in games but you don’t go to ground because someone is close to you. You stay on your feet and if somebody touches you then fair enough.

“Everyone was so surprised when the referee gave it. I thought that the linesman had a great view too, it was as if he was looking straight at it, but obviously not.”

Brendan Rodgers’ side had controlled much of the match, and it was Tierney who had given the Hoops a first-half lead with a superb strike from outside the box.

Former Celt Michael Gardyne equalised just after half-time before Celtic substitute Patrick Roberts restored the Hoops’ lead with an excellent solo effort.

And while the champions were disappointed with the 2-2, along with the late red card issued to captain, Scott Brown, the result still extends the team’s unbeaten domestic run to an incredible 40 games.

“Decisions go against you and there were a few in that game,” said Tierney. “Broony had been kicked up in the air twice and nothing happened then. We’ve got good players in every single position but Scott has been a rock for us this season, in every single game.

“Whatever happens we just have to deal with it but we were disappointed. We conceded two goals and we’ll be looking to fix that next week.”

I have literally next to no fear of him leaving.

He isn't a Vic or a Foster or a VVD who has always had his sights on the EPL. He couldn't make it any clearer his dream was/is to play for the club he loves. He says it in just about every Presser he had ever done.

See this boy, he's got to be somebody reborn, he's no * 19, he's a seasoned * pro. He plays like he's had 400 odd games under his belt.

Solid as * today. Left a couple of extra wee one's on the likes of Waghorn which was good to see..

Only thing was his first touch a bit today. Almost always bobbled up unless he was running on to it..

    Great running as always..

I don't think he was all that great today. Got in some good positions offensively but can't remember any of his crosses finding their man, plus he was a bit lazy with his attempt at stopping Taverniers cross where waghorn headed over. He wasn't bad but he's had much better games, that's for sure.

I actually thought he was back to his old self today , got in behind and delivered good crosses a few times in that second half.

I think he took it easy, didn't venture forward as much as usual. Didn' t have to either since we got an earlyish lead and never looked troubled.
