    SUNDERLAND are weighing up a £10million-plus move for Kieran Tierney ahead of tomorrow’s transfer deadline after watching him help Celtic make history.

    The left-back was outstanding as Brendan Rodgers’ side swept aside Hearts to smash the 50-year-old club record of 26 domestic games unbeaten held previously by the Lisbon Lions.

    Sunderland and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace both sent senior scouts to Parkhead yesterday specifically to run the rule over Tierney.

    The Black Cats’ need is more urgent as they are on the verge of selling left-back Patrick van Aanholt to Palace for £14m.

    Chelsea want to sign Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon
    Manager Davie Moyes will get a large chunk of that cash to spend, and Tierney’s name is high on his list.

    Celtic are likely to refuse all January bids for the 19-year-old, but his list of admirers is growing and he could be sold in the summer.

    Rodgers is also trying to fend off Chelsea’s interest in keeper Craig Gordon.

    The 34-year-old is keen to hear what Chelsea have to offer as they look to make him understudy to Thibaut Courtois. Talks between Gordon’s agent and Celtic chiefs today will likely be pivotal.

    Rodgers said: “He is a player we want to keep. I have had a few conversations with him and he is clear where we are at.

    “I understand the lure of it and I also understand what it would mean for Craig to go there as a No 2 for the next two years and waste away his career in not playing games.”

    Completely agree with this. Well grounded and shows nothing but class. Young players looking to make it in the game should be looking closely because they could learn a thing or two.

    Man City signed Paddy for £12 Million and in my opinion KT has way more potential- at roughly the same age (albeit in a different playing position) - so £10 million is an insult!

    Would love to see him stay here his whole career - doubt that'll happen - but if we were to sell I'd want nothing short of £18/20 million.

    Alan * Hutton went for 9/10 ffs!

    I am sorry 10million is a completely unfair valuation , and Sunderland would be an embarassingly bad move for him . He would turn it down without doubt . He will be here for a while and if he does leave it will be for more than that to a top 6 EPL club .

    The fact it is Sunderland, or the fact they would offer £10m when they have sold Van Aanholt for £14m.

    Everyone is raving about his crossing and assists etc. Which are great, specially yesterday, but its his timing for a tackle that I absolutely love. And again for a 19 year old!

    Guy has it all to be one of the best left backs in the world. No exaggeration.

    Teams just think they can pick up our players on the cheep then in a few yew years sell them on for huge amounts.
