I might well get lynched for this, but I would far rather have kept Crosas and cashed in on Ki by now.
In fact, I would have loved to have tried Crosas in a deeper role in front of the defence with Kayal and Ledley protecting him. Ki...well...I'd maybe give him some game time in the CL (IF we get there) so as to further increase his profile and cash in.

You'll no get lynched by me buddy. I also think Marc Crosas looked a better player than Ki.

I am sorry but based on what is on celticfc.net thats just not true, and I seem to recall the stats you mention not taking into account europe

I don't think excluding europe would make a difference, if Europe were included I would think the win percentage with Ki in the team would be lower as he featured in most if not all of our European games and we only won once. Also the stats mightymcginn posted were only for when Ki started so a stat for every game he played a part in could be different.

Very damning stats indeed against Ki if they are true and I have no reason to doubt them or cross check them, because they align with my own feelings and observations on Ki, from having watched him for the past three years now.

I concur with you on Marc Crosas, I think we got a far greater return from Crosas than Ki, because Crosas could thread a ball through the eye of a needle from a deep lying position, exactly what we need in our team today. Crosas would also be ideal with Kayal, Brown or Wanyama protecting him like you say. Any chance we could coax Crosas back ?

One thing I can't understand is that people who slag Ki adore Brown. And the other way around. Why prefer one over the other? They should be playing side by side, as they fulfill different duties. I like both Brown and Ki. If you want to compare Ki to someone, it's maybe Commons. Or Ledley, but only in the passing category. And in passing, Ki beats them both.

Why do people keep talking about Ki's passing? I can turn to the side and pass the ball as well. Fair enough he plays a few good balls but not nearly enough.

Can't think of another celtic player who divides so much opinion past or present. I would have him in my team. I have a european mentality about football rather than a British. So prefer players like Ki oppose to Brown.

Dreadful before he came off today, first touch non-existent.

One good memory of Ki is all I have of Ki, his winning goal in the Scottish Cup Final last year, for which I am eternally grateful, however I am struggling to think of any other plus factors from him in three whole years with us.

I wish him well like I would do with any Celtic player, but I can't even think of another league in which I could honestly say he would thrive in. At least Donati had a bit of gee in him and did well in Serie A, but like we had the same argument on this forum over McGeady for years and years, there is no end product with Ki.

It's frustrating because Ki looks like he could be a real player but he doesn't fit at Celtic at all. To get the best out of him we would need to build a team around him and we already have a good system and the personel to fit into it. I think we should cash in on him and wish him all the best.

he literally done nothing wrong today :56:

i mean he wasnt great, but he was tidy and his passing was accurate, he even made a few tackles and chased....he was injured while tracking back too, it was a quiet half for him, but he wasnt bad lol

if it was Brown that had a quiet half....then noone would say he was "dreadful", its just petty now...

Are you not allowed to voice an opinion on individual players anymore?

He was far from tidy, his passing was all backwards and every second touch was a tackle. If it were Brown then he would have taken the exact same criticism.

i didnt say you werent allowed an opinion, did i? nah didnt think so...i didnt even quote you infact...

and your other statement is bollocks too, he had a couple of backward passes to keep possesion, just like any midfielder would...i only remember his 2nd touch being a tackle once too, yeah, but whatever you say

You seem to get awful uptight, as do many others, when Ki is criticised. Was my point.

At the end of the day he was an empty shirt as he has been for months.

Really don't rate him. He's got a good shot sometimes, but don't see the hype with him.
