In any case its still a 3 year difference, therefore it is unfair to compare someone who has had more time to mature as a player.

I'll agree ki has 3 more years to mature and become as good as cabaye is now, but it wasnt me who made the initial comparison someone else said he was as good as cabaye and i don't think that is true at the moment.

I agree he isn't at the same level at the moment but i do believe in time he will be and possibly be better.

They play different positions so comparing them is rather pointless, you wouldn't expect a striker to be tackling and winning the ball back. Its also more forgivable for a striker to lose possession than a central midfielder. Ki is weak because whenever he is pressured or is in a 50/50 tussle for the ball he loses it or goes down looking for a foul, you simply can't have that quality as a central midfielder, its not as important for a striker.

Ki will tackle. But, he mistimes them regularly. So, it's not that he doesn't try.

I never thought I would see even the debates about S.Korea national football team's quality in this thread,
well, it is true that S.Korea national team is now having a hard time for various reasons, and yes, it is also true that S.Korean national team was beaten by Japan at last August but also, it is true that S.Korea team's record against Japan's is still, 75 matches, 40 Wins, 22 ties, and 13 losses. And, Some people might just ignore the Asian football but I personally think the national team of any country is not a joke and especially these days, the gap between the national teams has been getting narrower, so, as a Korean, I feel proud of the fact that S.Korea advanced to the World Cups, seven straight times. I don't think it's an easy thing to achieve.
And, the experience of playing for a National team would definitely upgrade the players, which also helps the young players to have strong spirits and minds, and Ki is one of those players, who have so many valuable experiences until now. And Ki's father is also a footballer and he gives many advices and points out Ki's weakness rather than praising him. For example, I've heard his father wanted him to develope the heading ability as he is very tall. Well..Yes, I'm trying to say Ki is trying very hard. I do love his talents and as long as he continues to be trained, he would be just better and better as time goes by.

But, I do not insist any more Ki shoul stay(Even though I want him to stay), 'Cos I've seen so many fans want him to leave and I really don't know what to say when people say he is not suitable in SPL(Which I do not agree with), and to be honest, I feel little tired of hearing the same criticism about his laziness(this is really Not true, In my opinion, and one thing I disagree firmly.) Anyway, at least at the moment, to my eyes, Ki really doesn't have any desiere of moving team. He does look like concentrating on winning the league, like he has said several times. I don't think he would stay as a Celtic player for ever but at least at the moment, to my eyes, He just looks so proud of being a Celtic Player.
I remember his interview, When After Ki signed with Celtic, One interviewer asked to him " Why did you decide to play for Celtic ? You're young and you might have a chance to go to another better team if you wait a little more ?"
His answer was, " If you know just one thing about Celtic, you wouldn't ask me like that. And obviously you know nothing about Celtics, when you say like that. Celtic is a unique and really a huge club that has the great and brilliant history and the most fantastic fans in the world. I have loved this club since the period of studying in Australia and am truely honoured to be a part of Celtics. I'm just thankful that they chose me and I believe Celtic will upgrade me and I also wish to contribute to the team as much as I could."

I just hope he could achieve what he wants in his mind, as a Celtic player.

Anyone doubting his pace will have changed their mind if they seen his bombing run about 84 minutes in, he was absolutely flying - shame the ball got stuck between his feet when receiving the pass.

Anyway, I thought he had a decent game. Kept the ball well as expected, tackled well when he needed to (especially in the first half) and almost scored. Glad he started.

He won everything in midfield today, not a 'lightweight' performance at all. Tackles where very heavy today as well.

I cant believe people were calling him slow on here :56:

He's one of the most athletic and quick centre-mids we've had in a good while, quicker than Kayal, Wanyama, Ledley, Gravesen, Jarosik, Lennon, Lambert, Petrov, Hartley, Robson etc only Brown id say that I can think of is quicker than him yet people are complaining about his pace :39::39::39:

you must be trolling because Ki is our fastest CM, and I would say that iniesta, or forrest is a weak player too but they make up for that with skill, as does ki

Actually KI has made more starts than ledley, wanyama, commons, brown and mccourt so he is hardley a sub

Played well today, and could have scored 1 or 2.

Indeed. Against a physical Peterhead that played five in midfield at times. His lack of defensive ability has been blown way out of proportion and albeit against Peterhead, he put that to bed again.

You could maybe have accused him of being lightweight when he first joined but there's no way he can be accused of that now. His work-rate, tracking and tackling were all fine today.

Not trolling Ki just doesn't have any pace and is our slowest central midfielder, plenty have agreed with me. If you compare his recovery pace to that of Kayal or Ledley he just doesn't match up, Kayal and Ledley can make up ground on a player who has beat them Ki cannot. i would say that Ledley is our fastest central midfielder, it doesn't show because he can't dribble and sprint at the same time but for pure sprinting ability he is the fastest.

I've said this many times and I'll say it again Ki is skillful but his skill isn't enough to warrant a position in the team imo. Comparing him to Iniesta or Forrest is dumb because he isn't as good as those two.

Yes Ki does have more starts than the players you mentioned but I still class him as a sub because when everyone is fit he wouldn't be in the team imo.

I thought no one was a standout in the game to be honest apart from Stokes, reason being no one needed to be a standout, we didn't get out of first gear today to be honest.

    Aye, there was nothing spectacular.

He didn't fail at the parts of the games he's been constantly slagged for, which was pleasing.

Do you mean that I'm telling a lie???

Or, Do you just want to deny anything related to Ki ???

    Funny.

I really don't know what to say at this kind of response.

That's what he said, when he arrived in Seoul, after signing with Celtics, I do remember.
