Ki is not faster than Kayal, Ledley or Wanyama at all mate. I don't know how you can actually say that. Bannan is quick off the mark but not pacey over a distance. Ki is neither. Saying that ki is hugely talented and has a great future ahead of him, no doubt about it. At the moment though I would have kayal ledley and wanyama all before him in my midfield though.

Ki has played the most this season out of all our midfielders, believe it or not. :50:

And in the context of this conversation it's extremely relevant. I'll reiterate what I've posted for clarity. At the bright young age of 22 Ki has been a first choice midfielder at World Cups and Asian Nations, and was an important player for us last season.

I'm struggling to see what you base Bannan being better than KI on other than some fleeting glimpses for Villa - he certainly hasn't done it for Scotland.

The gulf in class is outrageous.

yes because he has stayed fit when others have not but recently when everyone has been fit he has been relegated to the bench. He is a sub when we have everyone fit same as Bannan at Villa.

I could be wrong but i believe he has made the most appearances but not played anywhere near the amount of minutes of our other midfielders.

I don't know if you have watched scotland's most recent qualifying campaign but in the final few games the tartan army was chanting bannan's name every time he touched the ball and he looked the best player in a scotland jersey.

As for your final statement i would agree the gulf in class is quite wide, ki couldn't even lace his boots:icon_mrgreen:

That's not a claim you can really make. Ki dropped out of the side also due to injury and has been a regular fixture on merit. Did you read any of my post? Lennon singled out Ki, Ledley and Forrest as being able to keep their head held high during our bad patch.

That's like trying to say Joe Ledley is a sub for us. In my mind, and bizarrely, Scott Brown is the only midfielder who can be classed (in your terms) as *not a sub* seeing as he is seemingly undroppable.

Ki, Kayal, Ledley and Wanyama are largely rotated depending on injury, and will stay out of the side on their return from injury until someone else drops out.

Acutally I'll hold my hands up here and admit Kayal has more starts/appearances :54:

But Ki is 2nd ahead of Ledley, Wanyama, Brown.

Oh come on. That is totally subjective and pretty meaningless I'm afraid!

If your going to say cabaye is 25 going on 26 then ki needs to be described as 22 going on 23 as his birthday is 10 days after cabaye's

but really everything about football is. I watched the game and thought he was great along with almost everyone else who watched it. There is probably a match thread somewhere on here that you could look in that would confirm that statement.

But still, that's what.. a single match? He's barely made more than 20 first team starts for Villa if that over the past 2 years and even still is considered a sub.

I agree that players are rotated when injuries occur but i still believe that if everyone was fit ki wouldn't be a starter. For me Wanyama and Kayal should be the first choice central partnership with Ledley next in line. Obviously we will see more of Ki now that Kayal is injured.

Haha ffs, what's that got to do with the price of tea in China?

Questioning others support for Celtic, bringing up the fact that Ki is a wee cheeky chappy, scraping the barrel now UncleHo. Big time.

just seemed like you were trying to pass it off like ki was younger than he is while cabaye was older than he is why not just say 22 and 25

Would play a midfield of Ki Wanyama ledley for the rest of the season with samaras on the left and stokes on the right behind Hooper.
