I'm actually astonished some people are critisising him.

He was a wee bit quiet in a packed MF but the lynch mob need to wind their necks in. Kayal was worse and Broony had a bad one. Cha was coco the clown.

You have got to be joking.

What did he do tonight which deserves any praise whatsoever? He was there in place of Stokes, our biggest attacking threat statistically.

If you didn't see the team sheet prior to the game you wouldn't even know he was on the pitch until half an hour into the game.

Was solid for most of the match. Certainly not his worst performance and doesn't deserves any criticism at all

It's called tactics Hammer. We were never going to play Stoked and Hooper upfront together. Ki was playing on the left hand side of midfield, practically on the wing and worked very hard to shut them down. Put in dome amount of tackles and was very tidy in possesion, every time he had the ball he found a man with it.

Something that is essential for us away from home in Europe, one a good few headers and was unlucky with a blocked shot jn the box at the end that could've went in.

I thought he had an excellent game and did exactly what was asked of him.

How can you not see how little he does off the ball ? His tracking back or tackling its * awful. Hes lazy. Maybe unfit but i jist cant understand where people are getting all this he played excellent tonight. Or the last few games hes played.

Tactics mean absolutely nothing if you're so called creative playmaker doesn't create or play make.

If he was put in that team to tackle and cover ground then Lennon has made a grave error in team seletion because Ki is one of the last midfielders we have that should be doing that job.

He was a complete non-entity tonight and if I were Stokes, once again, I would be absolutely seething.

Well... One of the last midfielders you say? Can you name another midfielder that we have at the moment who wasn't on the pitch or who wasn't injured?

He was one of the last midfielders, he was playing where Joe Ledley would be playing if he was fit.

Dunno how you keep on comparing hom to Stokes, i would have went of my nut if Lenny played Stokes in a defensive role on the left hand side of midfield.

I think this may be an effect but tbh I thought he's been poor all this season, numerous simple basic mistakes (that everyone has been making this season) starting I think with Sion away. Whether that, and then the illness, knocked his confidence or what I dunno but last season there were games when he seemed so comfortable and assured on the ball, he was the best player on the park by miles, controlling the tempo and all of our activities. This season he's been way, way off the pace.

Even if he gets back to his best form I still think he needs to toughen up a lot, mentally more than anything, because in the big crunch games for us he's either been poor or anonymous.

Tonight I don't think he was either particularly good or bad really, certainly better than Brown who gave the ball away in great positions more times than my grandma's dog would have, but Ki didn't seem to do too much tonight.

He's not the type of player who you notice doing loads, he's not getting stuck in like Kayal he just works away in the background but even so I don't think we would have missed him tonight if Lenny had put, say Stokes, on for him and gone 4-4-2 from the start.

I hope Ki gets better because Lenny's signings have 90% been brilliant and surely you can't have glimpses of class and then just be *, but I would not mind one bit if we got rid of him in January, dunno who would want to buy though with his form like this. He's not trying to shake off the bad form either, like Sammy has.

Didn't think he had a good game at all.

Why play Ki on the left, keep Sammy there and you'd get the same effort if not better, that then leaves room for Stokes and Hooper upfront.

I'm not comparing him to Stokes, I'm telling you he played at the expense of Stokes who was sat on the bench.

Kayal and Brown in the centre, Samaras on the left, Forrest on the right and Hooper and Stokes up top with 1 sitting deeper would have been sufficient.

Ki cannot play as a sitting midfielder nor should he be played like that, he struggles to do the job he was bought for never mind trying to get him to display forced aggression.

KI is a huge talent who somehow doesn't suit our team or country.regretably I would take any good offer we get and bring in someone more suitable

The fact is you don't know why he was bought and you are comparing hom to Stokes when if you look at the last European match the player Stokes made way for is Gary Hooper. Ki played well in that role tonight, he won some amount of tackles and was practically playing as a legt wing back at points in the game and he was still very tidy in possesion. I can't remember hom losing the ball once.

I think we would've got pumped playing with both Forrest and Samaras wide. Thats where most of Udinese goals come fromand to gung ho there would be crazy. Both Forrest and Samaras don't have the work rate required to do so.

Unbelievable, Ki out of the centre mids was the best on the pitch. Brown was diabolical, man can't pass a ball to a teammate, and Kayal didn't look interested at times in the match, reason why he was taken off because we were playing with 9 men virtually with those two contributing sweet * all at times.

You're rambling on tangents. What type of midfielder is he if he isn't a playmaker or a destructive midfielder or a box to box midfielder? What is left?

I never once, not one single time, compared him to Stokes :56:He took his place in the team, that's a fact. Wanyama dropped back to replace Loovens and Ki was brought in to replace Stokes. Hooper played against Hearts how could he possibly take his place?

Ki in a deep lying playmaker who sits in front on the back 4 and takes the ball and starts the attacks, and uses his long range passing. Ki tonight was playing from left mid to wing back to part of a front 3.

What annoys me so much is that other players are given leeway when played out of position but not Ki. Ki was by far the best midfielder tonight, after our captain and Mr.Big man kayal went awol.
