    Absolutely.

He gets stuck in at times but far too often he's a shitebag.

He always wants a free game, i.e. not actually wanting to close down and track players. My uncle mentioned that to me a while ago and I've watched him closely ever since and he was spot on.

just becasue we have Ki in our team now does this mean we need to learn about Korean customs and there mentality.

you have a point about loyalty.

do you know how much he is worth to us?if so tell us?

does not matter one bit where a footballer comes from,if people dont rate or like ki,its not because he's Asian ,dont think so,its all about his ability

Aye haha, Ki is one of our biggest problems. He's one of our top scorers and has the most assists. Definitely a problem there...

Actually yes. You need to be culturally sensitive. Understanding is key to keeping someone happy. When it comes to judging someone, as so many do on here. You need to understand what your judging, or you just come off arrogant. Where Ki comes from and his culture plays a lot on who he is as a player and a performer. So before judging or making unfound comments. Look at the whole picture.

    Loyalty - Thanks

How much? - Let me give you an idea. Koreans and Japanese unlike the majority of Asia are super fanatical about their stars. Ki is seen as an idol to football fans and woman in Korea capturing the whole of the market. The market is huge, there is about 50 million koreans in korea and about another 5 million spread across the region. They unlike the japanese consider football as their number one sport and have probably the best standard of football league in Asia. With this Ki is seen as the biggest star in football at the moment for them, along with his best friend who plays for bolton, but Ki is more of a hit with the ladies. Koreans are fanatical about idols and spend a fortune on everything they peddle, all you have to do is look at how much money some of the K-pop bands generate or previous football. With it being considered probably the most financially stable country in the region is it a HUGE market and we have their best star in football.

I have said it before and I will say it again, he is a cracking football talent. But also incredibly loyal and makes sure people know he plays for Celtic. which not a lot of players do these days. In terms of financial figures I would guess he generates between himself and the club, millions per year. Well worth keeping.

Where he is from - Bullshit. completely bullshit. Where a footballer is from gives them either an advantage/disadvantage in the game when it comes to reputation. If he was brazilian, everything he done on the park would magnified. Same if he was English.

If i judge Ki on his performance without the knowledge of his culture then i am arrogant? so its ok for me to judge all the scottish players then as i know that culture inside out..............what rubbish

if Ki is making us millions a year, show me the money ?? why cant we afford to sort this defence out and we pick up freebies on a regular basis

where he is from does not even come in to mate,we had Naka who was magic, then we had Juninho who was poor so i dont know where your coming from.

Ki our biggest problem? There are other players in the team far more worthy of that description aka Hooper, commons, Kayal to an extent, mastorovich etc..., ive named half a team who are causing us more problems right now than Ki.

In some threads, I sometimes step back from supporting Ki when I actually want to support him. I think I get intimidated because I'm from Korea, just like Ki, so I'm a bit afraid what if my supports would give him rather bad influences on this site.

Through his tweeter and his Korean homepage, I think I came to know what Ki is really like. He is an honest person and I think he has a really great attitude of mind both as a person and an athlete. And that's why I came to be one of his fans and have a strong belief that he could develop into a much better footballer. Because I think(and hope) an athlete with that kind of mind, without doubts, could succeed.

And, I know this is not the first time but I really want to say thank-you so much. I'm deeply touched by your post. I'm sure this support will surely give Ki much courages and strength to keep going on, in Europe. I even feel like to show him your post. I think I 'll still not actively participate in the debates about Ki(for the reason above), but wanted to say thank-you for understanding him/his situations. I really like your thoughts and the way you judge of players.

Don't be intimidated at all mate.

On the flipside our culture and the way we speak can come over as very harsh, especially on the internet, stick up and support him all you can :50:

    Good post

With regards to Ki, I rate him very highly, he has great technique, wonderful passer of a ball/free kicks set pieces etc.
But, a successful midfield needs balance, you need the physical aggressive engine to break up other teams play(Brown), you also need the cool headed finesse, to pick a killer pass when attacking(Ki).

Of late, Ki's performances(& the whole team) has been poor. I would've rested Ki for a few games as he looks like he needed a break & played Wanyama & Kayal in the centre to protect our two centre defenders.

He's a favourite player of mine, but teams are running through us at the moment, we need to grind out results. Once we get form back, then entertain the fans!

    Hail Hail

If you read through what I have said properly, you would not need to repost.

Understanding culture is everything. No matter what job you do when you move to a new country its important to adopt as much of theirs as possible, but its equally important that people understand your a guest in their country and understand your culture too.

Like you comment "he doesnt have heart" just shows you know nothing about the lad. He probably has as much heart as the local lads. As pointed out by our Korean fan "innerpeace" he constantly posts of his feelings for the club. constantly.

Money - I am not Peter Lawell. With Nakamura we made more money than Man U did from C ronaldo. Yet it was never reinvested. Let me tell you one thing though, the costs of a club like Celtic to function in the SPL is HUGE. not every penny earned can be used to reinvest, but thats for another thread. But I am sure you already know that.

I am talking about youth. Naka and Juninho were both experienced and had a huge reputation before walking into Celtic Park. For example. If a young talent from China emerges vs a young talent from Brazil. with no real proof of experience which one do you think a club would take a bigger risk on? Nationality is everything in football.

if you make some sense then i will understand you,you go around in circles and i am lost as to what you are trying to say.

i am going to stop you there mate, what you are saying is debatable regarding moving countries, you might reside in Asia at present, thats great, you have experienced foriegn lands,i have many years of living in foriegn lands on my CV too and by * i did not give 2 * about there culture while being hated due to the great British empire..........

do you know him personally ? as for the "heart"comment i stand by
i dont know any present celtic player personally,i only gauge what i see in staduims and banter on forms ,news ect...... if he showed more heart just like many others in our club then we would not be in this mess.just because i mentioned that, does NOT mean i said it due to his nationality

Naka had a huge rep before he came here, did he?cause i had never heard of him
    like many others

so all in all when the next time you pop into Korea and you look up to that big advert board and see Ki in his calvin klein briefs, stop and say to yourself
ki the next time i see you on a board ,i hope its in a celtic strip holding the spl league cup above your head.thats all that matters to me and many other celtic fans.

    I explain my points perfectly.

You moved to another country yet you didn't give a * about their culture? Nice dude. British is no excuse. I lived in Malaysia where Brits chopped the heads off the locals during colonisation yet I had no issues. However this is a football forum so I won't go any future but you comment tells me all I need to know. Culture is everything.

Naka - was the biggest Japanese player since nakata. World famous before joining Celtic .

Ki- actually I saw a huge advert in singapores changi airport for Nike with him wearing his Celtic strip. Google his latest Nike advert ;)

I couldn't care less where he comes from... he hides when the going gets tough! He's simply not brave enough and doesn't seem to have a sense of urgency!!!

It's clearly not a South Korean or Asian 'thing' as Cha comes across as being plenty brave and has a sense of urgency... he just doesn't have Ki's natural talent!
