    Whos our goalkeeping coach again?

My mate knows him and he was saying that Ki is one of the hardest players in the team, said he's a Paul Scholes type. He always knows when he's going to scud a player one. Thinking back to a lot of his games he does have a lot of stud first tackles.

Although he did say that Joe Ledley, Kayal and Big Maj were unquestionably the hardest in the team.

He's stil young. Hasn't looked the same since he's came back from the Asia cup but in fairness when was the last time he had a proper break? He played teh World Cup, pre-season, 1/2 a season in the SPL and the ASia cup. He has the potential imo and could be a top player. Just needs the right guidance and time to develop.
Adn btw, he's a bit of a dirty little * isn't he? Seen him crunch a few players and he caught that * laugherty a peach on Sunday.

    I like Ki.

He's not as dynamic a player in the middle as Brown, Ledley and Kayal though and with the attacking full-backs we need the centre-mids to be fairly dynamic.

He's not weak though, just not defense minded. He'll go in for tackles and contest headers but is a bit reckless at that side of the game compared ro Kayal and Ledley but he's a bit better than them going forward, playing a pass or hitting a shot and can learn that side of the game. Id keep him unless a good offer of £6million+ came in as he could succeed in top teams in Spain, Italy or Germany.

    Stevie Woods.

Id agree with that too. I remember his debut in a home game, he came on as a Sub and within a minute stuck the head on an opposition player going for a header, Ki was fine and the other guy was down :56:

Edit wasnt his debut his 2nd game against Hibs, I thought it was against Hibs his debut he started against Falkirk.

Paul Scholes is the worst tackler in British football :97:

Didn't say he was a good tackler, just said that he knows when he's going in to scud a player. Knows when they need a thumping.

Hammer i just don't agree with that analysis, neat and tidy, sorry but forgive me if im not mistaken but thats exactly what ledley does, hes neat and tidy in the middle of the park and closes down opposition well.

Now again forgive me if im not mistaken but thats exactly the kind of performance Ki gave on sunday against rangers, and Ledley was posted missing in that game until he went off, we could put that down to his injury but people don't give Ki as much credit because they simply don't fancy him as a player.

He looks very awkward to me playing the hard man act, it's as if he's been asked to perform a role he isn't fit to play.

Ledley provides balance to the midfield is a goal threat, especially in the big games and plugs the gaps left by the full backs superbly.

The real reason I'm not Ki's biggest fan is I don't think he has the correct mentality to succeed. Technically he is flawless, he can ping 50 yard passes all day long and can turn on a sixpence but if he doesn't have the proper mentality to be a Celtic player, which I personally don't think he does at the minute, he'll never succeed here. Like I said above he's been asked to stick his foot in and he looks completely awkward trying to pick fights with hard nosed SPL centre mid's.

According to Steve Woods it's natural, he has the kind of personality that likes a fight. Thinking back on some of the tackles he's made I believe that is true, he caught Lafferty a * dillion on Sunday.

Even his controversy on International duty, seems to be the type that thrives on it. We haven't seen the best of him yet but he's a good guy to have in the squad and still young.

Hes only turned 22 recently i think, hes still very much a young guy, you need to give young guys their toys so to speak, taking away a players personality because you think its immature takes away a part of the player, Boruc was immature many times but that doesn't detract from what you thought of the player, you adored boruc.

Its a bit of a double standard to resent someone due to immaturity when other players did it as well but do not get the same kind of flak.

He looks awkward? Not to me. And who gives a * how he looks anyway, he's putting his all in for the team and that's good enough for me.

Anyway, even if he isn't a hard man, then surely it's showing the right mentality to have the attitude to adapt areas of your game that dont come naturally to you.
