For what it's worth, this is on goal.com:

“I thought about it a lot over the last few days,” Ki said at a press conference in Seoul.

“It is a good opportunity. I am happy to think that I am progressing in the right direction."

Ki has been linked to other former European champions in recent months with PSV Eindhoven, Porto, Hamburg and Manchester United all reportedly interested in the international.

“I want to go to a good league but Celtic are a historic club and this is the right road for me to go to a big league. I had offers from other clubs but I think this is the best for me.

“At the moment, I am still an FC Seoul player and it is important that I do all I can to help us achieve our target of the K-League and Asian Champions League.”

i was pretty sure he was signing in january. obviously theres the 1% chance things fall through, like he has a fall-out with tony mowbary, or fails his medical, but i cant see that happening.

he might also get here and decide this is the place for him and stay for anything up to 6 years.

i think he'l waltz right into the team unless our midfield are performing excellently. he'l of just played a full season when he comes in too ...

I hope he gets a firm hold on a first 11 spot. Hopefully a world class player.

I dunno I find his honesty quite refreshing. If he comes here and we get two or thre good seasons from him and can sell him on for a profit then good enough. That's how the game is these days.

He will be great!! Can't wait to have him on board , I would be starting him straight away , N'Guemo , Brown and Ki in the centre of midfield in a 5 man midfield would be great. Zhi is another option , Robson and Crosas will really need to fight for a place now!!

How can it be Yong, when it feels so right?

Seriously though, we have to be careful here.

If we sign the wrong Yong, we'll wrong yon young yin Yeung. :fear:

Hmmm...I'm not convinced that he could be a larsson or petrov, Nakamura wasn't even a larsson or a petrov. He is gonna have to put Naka to shame if he wants to be up there with the greats

As proud as we are, Celtic obviously aren't the best club in the world. We play in a poor standard of league compared to our English counterpart and we simply don't have the money to compete year in year out with bigger clubs in the transfer market.

I'm proud of the fact that despite all this, Celtic are still on par with clubs that have a lot more financial muscle and play in better leagues. At some point though, players will want to move on and experience the bigger leagues and face better teams week in week out rather than just in Europe.

I have no problem with him staying here for a few years before going off to a club in England, as long as it's one better than Celtic. I'd be pretty disappointed if he left Celtic on a high in 3 years time only to join Bolton or some other midtable side.

I believe that there is a big difference pulling on a Celtic shirt compared to other clubs. The fans are just amazing and there is just something about the club that gets you excited. Who knows, he might catch the Celtic bug and decide to stay. :50:

Nakamura is a better footballer than Petrov.

Henrik has the magic dust alright, but Stan is no great shakes compared to Naka.
