I have never seen this guy play so I have no idea what type of player he is or what his level of ability is. What I do know though is this, it is pretty unrealistic to expect a young guy to come all the way from Korea, to a completely different culture and type of football in Scotland, and to 'sort our midfield out'. It's probably going to take this guy a wee while to adjust to being in Scotland and it will make things harder for him if fans expect too much too soon.

Yes, I think that's a big difference compared to players that usually come from Asia. He went to school and lived in Australia for more than 4 years and while Australia is not exactly like Scotland, it will still hopefully make his adapting period shorter and more successful than it usually is for Asian players.

The majority of the reports on him sound favorable, the question is who the * will we have to play along side him ? We all know that Mc Geady is currently shouldering the entire midfield and forward lines, bringing in more new blood is vitally important if these guys are to really shine.

He sounds like one confident young bhoy.

Ki Sung-Yong has urged Celtic fans not to compare him to Shunsuke Nakamura - because he is more like Steven Gerrard.

The 20-year-old South Korea midfielder is set to seal a January move to the Hoops from FC Seoul.

Ki is happy to be compared to other players but believes he is more like Liverpool captain Gerrard than former Celtic ace Nakamura.

"There's big pressure on me arriving and playing for Celtic," he said.

"People will be expecting me to be the new Nakamura, but I'm not. He was a wonderful player and really gifted technically, but that's not the style I play.

"I'm younger, faster and stronger. In South Korea, people compare me to Steven Gerrard, and I'll admit that's who I've based my game on.

"But Gerrard is one of the best and most recognised midfielders in the world. At the moment, I'm not, but that's what I want to become.

"Gerrard is my idol, he's the complete midfielder. He can score, he can pass and he never stops working. That's why he's the best in the world and that's what I want to be.

"My other hero was Zinedine Zidane. I'm not trying to say I'm as good as these players - but one day I would like to be."

That is an encouraging quote posted by Mick above. In fact 90% of the players we sign need that attitude, which is basically..

We have to accept that we want to be signing Barcelona's, Man United's, AC Milan's stars of the future. This guy has his mind set on making it from "good" to "great". People probably class it as a selling club mentality but that is where we sit now in world football. The only people in our club that fit that kind of profile is Boruc, McGeady and Brown so the more the merrier.
