Well if Man Utd were wanting him to come train with them, then I'm pretty sure he can't be that bad. Judging by the videos he looks like a great prospect and I'd welcome him with open arms.

If we do sign him, I'd like him playing regulary.

So Lawwell says he's another for the future. Just what we need, then.

Ki Sung-Yueng (Korean: 기성용; born January 24, 1989) is a South Korean football midfielder who currently plays for FC Seoul. He is widely regarded as one of the top, young footballing prospects from Korea Republic along with Lee Chung-Yong. Both players are affectionately known as "Ssang Yong (Double Dragon)", owed as much to their meteoric rise in talent as their pivotal roles within FC Seoul. He is regarded as one of the Wolfe Tones greatest fans in Korea. In addition to owning the largest collection of Charlie and the Bhoys records outside Croy.

aye, but saying that, man u are probably unsure about what he can bring to the club, so have offered him a trial and to train with the club.

beleive me, if manchester united wanted him, they would of had him by now.

I've got a feeling that he means at the end of there season (5th of December) a deal will be done because if there top of the league they wont want too lose one of there best players half way through there season. Thats if we are going to sign him.

I think we will buy again this transfer window.

Scottish Club Celtic Makes Offer to Ki

FC Seoul refused an offer from Scottish club Glasgow Celtic for midfielder Ki Sung-yueng last week, saying the player is too vital to the team.

``Celtic sent us an official offer, which includes the transfer fee offer. We sent it to FC Seoul,'' an official at IB Sports, Lee's agency, told The Korea Times, Tuesday. ``The transfer fee is between 2 million euros (3.5 billion won or $2.9 million) and 3 million euros (5.3 billion won or $4.3 million).''

If FC Seoul had accepted the transaction, it would have been one of the most expensive deals ever for a K-League player.

2m euros is a lot, but I like the idea of a buy and loan back. That's probably what we should have done with several of our young "for the future" acquisitions recently.

    Todays Sun

CELTIC are closing in on a £1.5million swoop for Korean wonderkid Ki Sung-yong.

Tony Mowbray has watched the 20-year-old FC Seoul midfielder, who's rated one of Asia's best talents since Shunsuke Nakamura.
Hoops chief executive Peter Lawwell has now opened talks with the South Korean league leaders over Ki.
And Mowbray believes the youngster can become a "star footballer" for Celts once he settles into the SPL. The Hoops gaffer said: "He's a young player with potential. Every player we sign is a big signing, but this kid has potential.
"I don't see him making a big impact right now. If he does come then I'd suggest it's something for the future.
"I like to build a club from underneath so we don't have to spend £10m on players - we've got them in for a few hundred grand.
"Then in a few years time they can become star footballers for the club.
"It's the only way for us. If we are going to get quality players we have to breed them ourselves and teach them the game ourselves."
Mowbray delved into the K-League to sign South Korea ace Kim Do-heon for West Brom.
He faces competition from Porto, Hamburg and PSV Eindhoven for Ki and must get a work permit but the Hoops are in pole position.
Agent Lee Yeung Joong insists Seoul want to keep the player until January - but refused to rule out a deal before Monday's transfer deadline.
Lee said: "Celtic have offered Ki a contract but the problem lies with his club because they are very negative about selling him.
"In my opinion, a transfer before the August deadline will be very difficult to achieve. It is unlikely. I think a transfer in January would be a far more agreeable prospect to his club."
Meanwhile, Mowbray has cooled speculation that fringe players Willo Flood and Koki Mizuno are poised to quit.
Flood has been linked with a loan return to Dundee United while J-League side JEF United want Mizuno back on loan.
But Mowbray said: "The financial aspect means that unless we are a very, very charitable club it can't happen.
"I'm a humane person - I don't want players stuck at a club and not happy. But if they sign contracts and earn money that becomes a problem."
