What other standards should we use? Key player for a top 20 national side? Asian Young Player of the Year? Linked with and scouted by top clubs around Europe? Soon to play in what is arguably the best league in the world?

I was hardly Ki's biggest fan, but he was and is better than anything outside Celtic.

I've not been proven wrong once. If you were being pedantic you could say 'incapable' is the wrong word, seeing as he EXTREMELY RARELY does show vision. But considering I used terms like 'rarely' before that, rather than absolutes, it would be churlish to pursue that.

I'm losing all respect for you as an authority on football. You seem completely unaware of some absolute fundamentals of the game, not least what it means to be a playmaker.

And for the record I don't dislike Ki. I just don't rate him as a creative player.

Couldnae believe it myself. Chick Young surpassed him by saying if Ki is worth £6million what is Kenny McClean worth???

Now McClean is a good and promising player but * *. Murdo was the only one who said he was a quality player.

Just upped my willingness for Kilmarnock to get relegated.

 

Vision doesn't necessarily mean splitting a pass, although the dozen examples I posted just now show just that. Vision means getting your head up and finding a player in a good position, or spotting a run and playing the ball accordingly. Ki does this, and does it often.

There are different types of playmakers.

 

Ki's talent is retaining possession. He is a playmaker of sorts. Just not a very creative one.

 

The things you listed there are better criteria for judging a player than a Youtube video.

The only criteria that really matters to me is how Ki performed in a Celtic shirt. I felt that there were too many occasions where he flattered to deceive so I'm happy that we've got £6million for him.

That really is a total riddy. Kenny McLean doesn't belong in the same sentence as Ki. It doesn't shock me to hear Chick Young come out with tripe like that though.

I'm happy too. I think it's a decent price and if the reported 15% sell on clause is correct then all the better. I'm still sad that he is going but it's better than losing him for nothing next year.

for some reason i've always disliked Kilmarnock after the Old Rangers. now that the latter is no more, it's just Kilmarnock and Hearts that boil my blood.

despite Hearts being a bunch of * and their warped view on touch-line assaults, i loathe Kilmarnock more.

Aye, it's a * joke. Some 20 year old 'lhad' from St. Mirren is better than a player with a wealth of international and european experience, who's a league winner, not to mention a classy player the likes of which Scotland has struggled to produce for decades, now. Aye, no problem, Kenny.

 

Ki Sung-Yueng has agreed personal terms with Swansea. He'll travel from S Korea to Wales tomorrow. Swans hope to conclude deal in 48 hours.
