I've honestly seen the video before. And that video does not expose my comment as wrong - if anything it proves it by focussing on his ability to keep possession, shoot and spread the play. He has very little in the way of vision.

How is it that you consider 'spreading the play' and 'vision' to be exclusive of each other in Ki's case?

    Code:
    vi·sion   [vizh-uhn] Show IPA
    noun
    1.
the act or power of sensing with the eyes; sight.
    2.
the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be: prophetic vision; the vision of an entrepreneur.

Because it doesn't require much vision to spray passes from left to right. Your logic is cringe-worthy. Ki is incapable of truly splitting a defence or even playing a decisive ball.

Great bit of business by Celtic. Getting that amount of money for what would probably have been a fifth choice midfielder is brilliant. Now, use this money to buy a CB and maybe Johnny Russell

    All the best Ki :50:

Have to agree, one of the easiest jobs in football to sit in front of a defence, not defending. And behind a midfield without doing the dirty work. That McCabe * done it for the old huns against us, just sat there picking up loose balls and not much more.... he's hardly a great player.

First video I clicked on. 1:35.

There will be many other examples as well. Ki is definitely capable of splitting a defence and is clearly capable of playing a decisive ball. To suggest otherwise is just silly.

Well the amount of times he has done it for Celtic you can count on the fingers of one hand.

There's an assorted 15 minutes of that plus great shooting in the video I linked earlier.

I suspect though that it's largely useless argueing this point with you. There've been at least two videos that contradict your opinion posted already and you're evidently unwilling to accept what is plain to see.

Wouldn't want to let the facts get in the way of your opinion now, would we?

I'm not saying he's the next Gerrard or Alonso, and I'm not saying he's a world class CM. Only that he is quite clearly capable of playing long range, decisive, visionary and pin-point passes with pretty nice technique. To argue otherwise is quite clearly contrary to the footage posted here already, never mind all the rest.

That is quite literally the exact thing you are guilty of. You simply do not know what vision entails. :56: The skills (which I am not necessarily devaluing) displayed by Ki in your video do not require a great deal of vision. He rarely splits a defence, despite the one instance provided by TAB in both videos.

Ki has a reputation as a playmaker. He is a good passer. This has led to the misconception that he is creative. He is not.

Unless you can provide me with some genuine recollections of Ki splitting a defence in a Celtic shirt I am no longer willing to continue this.

Yes, and I challenge you to recall half a dozen more such instances where he has played a teammate IN BEHIND THE DEFENCE. Those videos only show that Ki's play is almost exclusively in front of the opposition. Which is fine if you accept him for what he is.

I did already. Not once does he play a teammate in behind the defence or even orchestrate a goal somehow.

    ...

Just give up, and stop scrabbling around every time you're proven wrong. It's a bit sad.

Here's a few more. Not that matters.

    4.28, 8.30, 11.50, 12.00, 12.10 of that last video.

In my opinion some people put too much faith in Youtube videos when they are rating how good a player is. Pretty much any player can be made to look good if you cut out clips of the good things they do and stick them all together.

    Rafael Scheidt anyone?
