Because he wants to leave, and the two clubs have reached an agreement.

    Basically is a done deal.

5 or 6 million or whatever the final price, let's hope him all the best and look to the future and see if we get this money re invested into the squad.

    * *. How did we manage to get that amount of money for a bit part player? He's at least our 4th choice cm. I am struggling to see where everyone is getting this idea he's worth a lot more. He's done ok for his country but not a lot for us, possibly the type of football played in Scotland is to blame but I'm happy we got that amount for an "unproven" player so to speak. Could be down to his potential I suppose.

IMO i think its poor selling a good player before THE biggest game/tie of the season, what if we dont beat Helsingborgs over two legs?

Just watch the first couple of minutes of this and say he wasn't some player. I love all our midfielders but I think Ki is the best when he's on form and although I like Kayal and Wanyama more, objectively I have to say I think Ki will go on to have the best career.

Anyway good luck to him, I for one will be genuinely upset to see him go. :54:

The guy swansea sold to liverpool, was he better than Ki, they got £20m for him in a league flush with cash and Celtic dont hold out for more money, crazy.

How much did we pay for Kayal though? Imo he's better than Ki... I get where you're coming from but it doesn't always work out the way you're looking at it.

    sad to see him go

great technique and passing ability and vision

such a shame that a player of this calibre can't cement a place in our team

yet he could be an almost certain starter for any other team in europe

bye ki and thanks for the memories, good luck down south :50:

I think Kayal is better too, but Ki will get more time on the ball down there, the game is slower and that will suit him.

He has fantastic technique, decent vision and although most people will agree he is seemingly much more suited to the game in Spain and Italy, in the EPL he could not be joining a more suitable team than Swansea City, where I have the feeling he is going to excel under Michael Laudrup.

The Swans style of football is absoutely perfect for him and I am sure it will not be long before he attractes the attention of much bigger clubs. I just hope we insert a sell-on clause for him.

Huw Jenkins, the Swans chairman, has already said that if they were still a Championship club he would probably have accepted 3-5 million, but because they are in the Premiership his value has to be compared to other similar standard young players, such as Jordan Henderson of Liverpool - a 22 million pound player.

Similar rules apply to us unfortunately. Because we are in a much smaller league we will be doing good business to bring in 6-10 million for the likes of Hooper, Wanyama, Keyal and Forrest, when they all move on to the EPL or another big league.

Of course the more times our players move on the better our reputation will be to young players looking for somewhere to prove themselves before heading for the big leagues. And then we might be able to demand some much bigger figures, as do the more recognised sources of talent, such as Ajax and Porto.

6.5 upfront and 2 million in addons

I don't see what everyone is so upset about. That's decent. For an spl club we won't get much more.

Not a done deal yet, the video on the other page proves what a player he was for us. Will always remember watching that match at Easter road last season and thinking it was a long time since I seen one player rip a team apart so badly, I remember the camera cutting to Lennon after he has that 35 yard shot just got over the bar by a bawhair and you could see the big cheeser on lennons face.

Will be gutted to see him go
