    No.

He just isn't the same as Kayal. He's a bit of a maestro and slows things down. I won't get at him for not being a Kayal type.

Why pick on Ki today- why pick on anyone?

Ki himself isnt the problem its more to do with the fact that him and ledley simply do not work together, ledley benefited hugely from playing alongside kayal and if ki gets the same chance (on wed maybe ) im sure he will too.

FFS!! So, every Celtic player should tackle hard and have lungs of steel? The world is full of different types of players. I appreciate seeing a Hun come out of a duel with Biram looking like a car-crash victim.:56: But I also like seeing Ki play the right pass at the right time. Or swing in a tricky set piece.:50:

yeah Ki is a footballer, not a fighter

nobody had a go at Nakamura for the way he played- it's all about the balance of the team

You must be close now to having a knee-* thread for every player in the squad. :56:

Ki was poor today, but I think he's a classy player. The good things with the suspensions is that it's let us see all possible midfield partnerships.

    Kayal-Ledley works
    Ki-Ledley doesn't work

Kayal-Ki? We'll soon see, but I have a sneaky suspicion it might be the best yet. Ki can keep the ball moving like Ledley does, but also has an incisive pass in him.

Still not convinced by "Mr.Consistency" either incidentally, at least Ki trys things, Ledley had the chance to take the game by the scruff of the neck and show why hes a first choice Celtic midfielder. Instead, he passes 3 yards to Ki/Commons and let's them do it - Exactly as he has all season.

The Ki-Ledely CM pairing is a disaster IMO. I think people are decieved by them because they are tidy passers but that pairing was responsible for a lot of our dodgy form pre-Xmas. We suddenly got much more successful the minute that pairing was split up. It just seems that the team does not defend well with that pairing. I thought both of them were poor today. Next week I would drop the pair of them and go for an uber-tough CM of Kayal and Broony and play 2 wingers (Forrest and Commons).

I seen him getting a lot of praise from his fan bhoys after the cup game at the shitpit which I couldn't quite get my head around, he was average at best.

Now I understand that he when he has a bad game, it's exaggerated by his critics, but when he has a good game it gets completely exaggerated by his fan boys. C'est la vie

Bollocks....Ledley was playing further than Ki, so was recieving the ball most timeed FROM him and passing it on. If anyone had the chance to prove themselves today it was Ki, as Ledley is one of Lennon's first names on the teamsheet.

Plenty of people on here having a dig at Doctor Venglos for having an opinion on a player......Get a * grip, he's more than entitled to:38:

I think we have to look at stats like that. I dont think its chance that we had a much better record this season when Kayal or Broony play CM. There is something missing from his game. I think its his defensive reading of the game.

Playing 2 wingers was dangerous for us, before. Although then, we had no Kayal in the middle. I would place Ki in the middle, and put Brown on the right, just like usual. He's a great check to Diouf. A winger would get caught. And having Ki as the midfield maestro would be sensible. Samaras would love his through balls.

Never saw why he was commanding so much praise in November/December, he done little IMO. Few simple passes at home when he has space, nothing special.

Far too many over-inflated opinions/assessments on him pre-Asia Cup.

I think we all agree that Ledley and Ki as a partnership don't work, they are very simlar in their style of play. Ki hasn't had a chance to play beside Kayal yet and I think, like Ledley, that's exactly who he needs beside him to shine.

If we play Ki-Kayal on Wednesday and our midfield is overrun, then I will be more than happy to concede that Ledley is integral to our current midfield.

I just think Perfect pitch + Kayal = The making of Ki.
