Not sure if lenny is serious about this. Lack of ambition that can cost us the CL.

Well Lennon thinks he can keep Hooper. No chance he's staying. He would've accepted a contract by now and even if he did I think it would be a Stan Petrov situation where he's only doing it to give us more dosh for him.

Secondly the Stokes business. He's declined a contract. Doesn't mean he is leaving just yet, but I haven't heard Lennon come out and prioritize it which we usually hear when it was Wanyama or Hooper attracting interest from teams when he wanted them to sign a further contract.

Lassad, Miku, Murphy, Bangura are all basically gone or going. Not a huge loss but our depth in strikers isn't great. Were very strongly linked with Doyle, I know you quite like him but I watched a good 12-15 wolves games last season he's quite an average player. Not good enough considering his age, his wages and he's not as good as he used to be.

Also strongly linked with this lad Balde who said all that pish about the current strikers at Celtic, without really having done much in his career. Watched the clips on youtube, the guy looks like a big Donkey. Okay he could prove people wrong and be a good player who knows but it doesn't look great. Plus Newcastle are floating about looking at him. He will likely join the premiership over us.

Watt and Atajic, nobody has really seen Atajic in the first team doing the business. Aye he scored that cracking goal against Hearts under 20s but we don't know much about him being a success in the first team yet.

    That's my point.

Stokes might have rejected a contract but we've excercised the year extension.

Lot of Mystic Megs on here seem to know for certain that he’d be absolutely pish for us. Maybe things might just click for him here.

I do see what you are saying though, even if it is a wee bit more blunt. We have seen this with Celtic a few times in the past where we can leave it late, obviously with it being June its not late yet but we must remember our season starts in 5 weeks and not 2 months from now.

Our business does need to be relatively quick, the players being linked at the moment certainly don't scream ambition but then again we don't know if these players are actually on our watchlist.

Its a waiting game and some of us just aren't too good at it. :56:

If the date was August 30th, you'd have a very valid point. Considering we're barely into June, I suggest you take a deep breath and give it some time. The players we'll bring in probably haven't even made it onto the press's radar yet.

I dont imagine we are going to sign big or expensive playes. Why? We cant seriously be buying players for the CL, that is such a lottery. We should be looking at players that can enhance the squad for the SPL, which we were poor in, and try and get into the CL at best, the EL at worst.

Russell fits the criteria for us, young, talented, cheap. Looks like he isnt on Neils radar. Thats fine. Doyle will be more expensive, but he is a more than decent player and would give us a harder edge up front.

For all that, I still think that our centre back area is a priority. It was a real weak link last season.

Hope this stuff is only being said to appease the Irish fans before the game vs Liverpool, otherwise it's stupid.

The only Irish player I'd like out of those who were linked is Given on a one year deal, but only in case Forster leaves.
