CELTIC have launched a stunning bid to bring former Man City and Leicester frontman Kelechi Iheanacho, SunSport has learned.
Nigerian international Iheanacho was part of Brendan Rodgers' FA Cup winning team at Leicester City, whom he joined for a reported £25m after making his name with Manchester City.
Still only 28, sources in Sevilla have revealed that the Hoops are very keen to get a deal done on an initial six-month loan with an option to buy.
While there is also strong rival interest from Middlesbrough, Iheanacho is understood to be open to reuniting with Rodgers at Parkhead.
Iheanacho, capped 55 times for Nigeria, scoring 15 goals, is under contract in Spain until the summer of 2026.
He would represent a high profile replacement for Japanese frontman Kyogo, who put pen to paper on a £10m deal to join Rennes last week.
The Hoops, who have also been heavily linked with Brondby's Mathias Kvistgaarden, have only Adam Idah and Johnny Kenny left as recognised striking options although Daizen Maeda can play there too
