Yep, that was a myth that was put to bed in lennons first season when he played 6 or 7 90 minute games in the space of a couple of weeks.

He's not a player I'd like to lose but if he isn't getting the game time he feels he requires then it's probably best to move him on.

What I noticed last season was that his eye for a pass is as good as anyone in the squad. He does not need to dribble past players (as good as it is to watch when it comes off) and I think the coin has finally dropped as you may have noticed in his last few appearance for the Bhoys. - why couldn't we play like Italy with McCourt in the Pirlo role and either Vic or Kayal alongside him, protecting him and the defence???

Because he is better further up the park than in that role.

Have you ever seen him in that role? I haven't and it is only the fact that Italy deployed this tactic with Pirlo that I have brought this to the thread...

Many times, Neil Lennon has done it a good few times over the last season. He has also played there for Northern Ireland. He is far more effective doing the same kind of passing, playmaker role but firther up the pitch.

think its about time he moved on, if we can bring in another young winger he would be placed at the bottom of the list, unfair on him as a player and our wages would be swallowed up, plus we could get money off a team like blackpool for him, if we hold on to him we will loose him on a free

I dont see why we shouldnt keep him. He costs not much and he is a * of an impact player. its really up to him if he is happy with that roll though.

Sell him , never going to get enough game time , unfair on the player to keep him . Or maybe he is happy with 10 mins a game ?

It would be better for his career of he moved on. But if he's happy to sit on the bench and contribute from the bench fair enough.

His contract runs out next Summer and from a financial perspective the club could use whatever wages he is on to go towards a position we do need to fill. Namely a CB and target man striker.

Personally I like the guy but for the good of his career I feel he'd be better seeking a new club and start afresh.

I love Paddy. More to offer than a lot give him credit for. Want him to stay, unless his heart tells him to go.

He's had enough chances to make himself a first team choice and although he has had some great games he's still a squad player.Time for him to move on and bring in a player who is a first team player.

Everyone keeps giving him plaudits for lasting 90mins a few times.
There is no denying that before these games his fitness just wasn't there.

From what I remember, these games in which he played 90mins he contributed very little.

Squad player that has gained cult status.

Kayal, Forrest, Ledley, Brown, Samaras, Wanyama and Ki all contribute much more than McCourt.

    Sell.

No he didn't, in those games he was one of our best players. He finished that season on 8 goals in around 8 starts, 20 total appaerences.

I don't know how people can't see what he offers.

If he doesn't have fitness issues, is capable of playing 90 minutes no problem and has such raw talent, then why isn't he starting?
